Heyy! Can you explain what the “back tax refund is?” And how to request this while shopping? Thank you!

Sure! So basically when you shop in certain countries overseas (typically at luxury stores), you get taxes back on shopping because you aren't a resident. So basically when you're in the store, you'll ask for the VAT tax form which the sales assistant will fill out on your behalf with the sales info. You then have to take that to a kiosk in the airport to get your refund approved, and you also have to show the items to a tax agent to verify them. Your refund will either be given to you in cash or refunded to your credit card. To be able to get the VAT tax though, you need to have your passport with you while shopping to show it to the sales associated.

Did you have any experiences with the famous Pickpockets that are in Barcelona? I am going there in a few weeks time. Looks like a great place though.

I did not, but I saw a man that was impacted. I would recommend keeping your things in a bag that you can wear across your body instead of having things in your pockets that are easy for others to grab.
