Girl tell em again. I was trained to apply makeup by a beauty agency to make extra cash and even with the best products, training and 8-16hrs of doing it on workdays for years , I👏COULD👏NEVER👏 .. millions of people look in the mirror and self obsess EVERYDAY, and still can't create such evocatively beautiful or intricate looks/works of art.

People who aren’t goth or punk get this idea (mostly from the entertainment business that used to make tv show villains into punk rock types; especially during the 80s) that people in that subculture are wild, crazy, and even possibly criminal at times. But the reality is that people in those subcultures are nerds. They’re just nerds who figured out a way to be “cool” without being a conventional idea of cool. As always, art and artistic impulses lead the way in changing culture. It’s no coincidence that such styles are bleeding into conventional fashion. It’s no longer strange to see someone going to work in an office with black vinyl on.

I think it's because it's different from other transformations. She's excited about it and liked the look. So even if she was a bit out of her comfort, her confidence and personality still was there even with a change of style. She's extremely confident in herself comparatively to others, and just likes trying out fashion of all kind. She really looked like she got a lot from this, and it made the look feel so much better.

I wish they could have found her some clothes for the makeover that actually fit her body! It's like they put her in potato sacks. The makeup was gorgeous, though.
