Bardock Was the First Super Saiyan of Legend! Or was he? The Episode of Bardock sure seems to think so, but thats just a non-canon spin off!

Xenoverse series kinda make this event believed to be what happened in the legend. Both it and Heroes retcon or maybe planned for that event to happened because of Towa and Mira, since this is technically a Heroes OVA.

Not really. The original ssj is still considered yamoshi. This was just a what if OVA made by the writers

I like how this kind of makes a loop of Frieza attacking the saiyans, to stop the legendary super saiyan, sending bardock back in time whick makes bardock go SSJ and Lord Chilled warning his race of super saiyans. Then loops to Frieza wttacking tge saiyans.

Plus, we have already seen something similiar happening in GT, Baby's revenge death ball was so powerful it pierced the fabric of reality, it's not that farfetched to have an attack able to bring you back in time, although much weaker than rdb, the future powers might have done something with the supernova maybe?

Correction:the attack u referred on the start of video as “a Death ball” is actually a “Supernova”,and another thing is that in this timeline Goku probably wouldn’t exist because Gine isn’t born yet, and because Bardock would take too much time to find a ship to go to planet Sadala, and if he were to go Sadala early and he if found a Wife probably the son would look like him but I find uncanny that he would give the kid the name kakarot.

Sounds crazy but this is actually one of my favorite SSJ transformations and I’m glad that they gave my boi some love with this OVA. DBZ Bardock over DBS Bardock fosho (I like DBS too but OG is better) Reason why it’s a favorite is the trigger/cause of his transformation, due to loss, anger at possibly “dying again”, anger at himself he actually says he’s pathetic a couple times, I’d say his trigger is kinda similar to Vegeta, the whole “self-loathing” or feeling inadequate because you’re not strong enough…

If Super Saiyan Bardock were canon I'm gonna be honest, Dragon Ball Z lore would be much better in my opinion, if Goku found out about Bardock turning Super Saiyan to fight Frieza, it would simply be a son trying to surpass a father and would give Goku extra motivation to become a Super Saiyan

Chilled not transforming to his final form is the reason Bardock won. 50 times multiplier is nothing with a base 10000 pl Maybe present Frieza would destroy him even in 1st form(by present I mean the Frieza that had just destroyed Planet Vegeta not super one). Frieza>>>Chilled
