I took an acting class in college and I did this scene with another guy in the class. The professor paired us up because he thought we had chemistry, when in actuality at the time, I had never talked to this guy. The scene went well. I saw him later after the class was over, about a month later around campus. We dated, got married, had a baby together and now we’ve been together for 19 years this coming September. True story.

I remember seeing this film when I was a teenager and thinking "six days does not a week make" was the funniest thing I had ever heard. Its such a classic line. When put on the spot she makes up a proverb. Hysterical. They are both fantastic together in this film and are two perfect human specimens. Thanks for uploading.

Well, it's not that it's funny. But actually true when you think about.

@@Mr.SLovesTheSacredHeartofJesus Mr S - Neil Simon was the greatest comic playwright of his time. Its a funny line. Trust me. The gag is in the fact that she is making up a proverb on the spot - one that makes little sense in that she is wanting a divorce after 6 days of marriage. Its his response that is hysterical.

Brilliant reflection of very opposite tempers and mentalities at the peak of sociocultural change! Funnily enough, that seventy-year-old scene could happen exactly like that in every newly-wed household right now. Absolutely timeless!

this one scene is probably the best marriage therapy my ex-wife and I could have had, and would probably have saved our pretty good marriage from running aground -- because we could have laughed at ourselves and each other. Wish I'd seen this then!!

Redford is so handsome and it is not because he is blond, because even as a brunette he would still be goodlooking. He has always kept himself fit and is classically beautiful.

This is a wonderful film, I have always loved it. The entire cast is fantastic, including the wonderful Mildred Natwick (what a fantastic actress she was, so under-rated) and Charles Boyer. Such a heart-warming film. Did Neil Simon also do The Goodbye Girl, that was good as well, but this film is the best. xxx

@KellyGreen5555 Same for me - RR as Paul Bratter might be a kind of a "stuffed shirt" and "proper and dignified" too but he's so cute. He is just irresistible. I like Corie when she says to him that she thought that he was sleeping with a tie and Paul answers "only for formal spleeps". This lovers'tiff is really funny and well performed by both actors who are very cute together in this comedy.

I felt sorry for the husband trying to get some sleep for work tomorrow but being forbidden by his wife. And suddenly she want to divorce for not having anything in common. Not every couple have everything in common, couples complete each other. If everything is the same, how they complete each other and become each other strength?
