Welcome to the first of a new series for the channel where we take a look at some cool and unique "bargain bin" pedals, ( basically pedals that we have picked up for less than £50).
Today we take a look at the Danelectro Black Liquorice, a really interesting octave/distortion with a real character of its own!

One of my favorite suboctave fuzz pedals! I don't understand the hate for it (to each his/her own). More for me to stockpile!

My first pedal. Got it when I was 14, back in 2003. Brilliant pedal. Still have it, and even though the switch is broken (I've had to modify it), man it sounds fantastic. For me, back in the day it was basically 'Nirvana in a box'

Look. I gotta agree with you. Distortion/OD/boost circuits, I'm looking at you Klon, Boss, Ibanez etc, are not hard to produce and not very expensive. There is literally no reason why this defies dynamic sensibility. Except for that maybe, that's what they're trying to do. And if they are, they built this like an asshole.
