The Brighton Belle was an EMU (DC 3rd rail) not DMU. A 4-car Belle set is currently being restored at Locomotive Services at Crewe. The Airfix coaches you said had been modified as a DMU were actually GWR Autocoaches manufactured by Airfix. They were for push-pull operation with steam locomotives like specially adapted Pannier tanks. Sometimes they ran as a pair with the locomotive in the middle of the formation.
@wellchuffedrailways10 ай бұрын
Hi Neil, of course my mistake! Regarding the autocoach, I have the Airfix one but the one in the video had actually been motorised. Thanks for watching Rick

We were discussing Watneys at a fair yesterday when we found another of these vans. A few of the traders mentioned it was a horrible pint! Cheers Rick
@harrygleed42311 ай бұрын
Hi Pauline and Rick it looks a great fair! The Marklin 2 coach rail car was a bargain at £50. You would pay that for the unpowered car new. Also the red loco (£225) you saw was a special model produced to show the Swiss Circus train, they also make various wagons. I am glad Pauline stop Rick buying the O Gauge Loco for the garden! Where was Bobby?
@wellchuffedrailways11 ай бұрын
Hi Harry, there were some nice rare models we haven't seen before. I can live without the O gauge lol. As for Bobby it's a bit tricky filming the bigger shows with him and he does get heavy carrying him around which we have to as people can't see him. He's ok at the smaller shows but he much prefers the heritage railways. Thanks for watching Rick

Great meeting you both today. Hope you enjoyed the rest of the fair and picked up a few bargains too! Steve & Dasha.
@wellchuffedrailways11 ай бұрын
Likewise, I'm sure we will meet again, don't know where, don't know when but it will probably involve trains. I accidently bought a loco but my excuse was I've been looking for one for years and only seen a couple and this one was by far the best looker and it runs like new. All the best to you both Rick and Pauline.

Hi there Rick and Pauline ,, I ended up buying a rocket launcher from the uk a while a go the same as the one you showed at 13.56 and i was surprised to see that it still worked. It didnt have the rocket with it so to test it i put a cotton bud in it and cocked and fired it it and it landed into the top of the curtains and its still there to this day haha. Also the 3 triang silver loco middle car and dummy car. The middle dummy car(no driving ends are as scarse as rockin horse poop here in oz and 35 quid for the 3 of them is an absolute bargain... Probly best you didnt buy the mainline 45 class diesel loco as I have bought 7 or 8 of them over the last couple of years and all of them bar 1 run but have broken intermediate cogs and they click like heck and is annoying and i cant seem to find any replacement cogs ,, so if you (or anyone) knows where i can buy the replacement cogs can you please let me know as i want to get them all going as soon as i can. Cheers from John in Australia
@wellchuffedrailways11 ай бұрын
Hi John, those rocket launchers along with everything else they did are incredibly well made. You can get replacemt rockets on eBay if you run out of cotton buds! Almost all the ones we see still work! That Tri-ang silver set really caught our eye as well and funnily enough we saw the same set at a toy fair today. Thanks for watching Rick
