The flat grind seems to bite deep but the convex really throws chunks of wood with every chop. I was on the fence about getting a Bravo 3 but you helped make my mind up. Good video.

I wish the bravo 3 was a bit thicker but i still pay for one

Why do you think the yacare didn't perform better? I'm guessing it's blade/edge geometry or the fact that the belly bulge is in the wrong place. At first glance, it appeared it would perform well as a chopper. What are your thought?

Compared to the bravo 3 there was no challenge from the beginning. The bravo is a monster, with a much longer and thicker blade than the yacarè, convex sharpened to zero, it is also heavier and balanced forward. The real challenge was with the dogfather, beacause they have the same blade lenght and the same weight. however the dogfather is far better because of the bevel, the edge thickness, and mostly because of the balance. To be honest the yacarè is a hybrid between a chopper and a machete, the handle is comfortable, but the shape of the blade looks good only on paper, then trying it deeper and comparing it with other knives, it is not at the same level. Mine also had a problem, probably with heat treatment, with differentiated hardening, I managed to bend it a lot in chopping after a few months of use, you can find everything in another video of mine if you want to learn more: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e66nmNZjktesfnk.html

You should compare the skrama next to those big bladed choppers.

Good blades in wrong hands. Bravo 3 have better kinetic energy 700grams of the beast the rest it's just a kid keeping this blades.

The child has almost 20 years of experience in the use of knives and various white hair. And if I remember college studies correctly, the bravo 3 has more potential energy, not kinetic energy. Because kinetic energy mainly depends on velocity (v2), rather than mass. Once the force is applied, the potential energy is transformed into kinetic energy. But kinetic energy is not enough to determine the functionality of a knife, it counts how it is transferred to perform the work (cutting the wood): therefore the inclinations of the blows, thickness of the edge, bevel, contact area, contact time, friction, etc. . Etc. Are very important. But staying on topic, where are your great field test videos of the bravo 3, as a true expert which one are you clearly?

dude.. NEVER lay your knives on the ground, out of basic safety and respect for the blade.
