It could be Aurora or Mini Aurora. A few days ago I touched for the first time a BRK. A friend send it to me, just to see it... I like it very much, but I regret I have no opportunity to check several models before I actually buy one. Besides Aurora, I like the Bravo series (rampless), the Bushcrafter and the Fox River... and a few more :)

Both the Aurora and Mini-Aurora are, imo, excellent choices for a first BRK!

Stunning. You must get the liten bror (little brother, in Swedish). Knives ship free still have them. It completes your set!

Nice overview... I have the original Aurora but find the standard thickness a bit of over-kill. I tend towards smaller knives these days so the detail on the Mini-Aurora was nice to see...

Thank you, Ben! I fully agree with you regarding the original Aurora being a tad too thick at .170" compared to the Aurora LT and Aurora 2 at .154"-.156". The Mini-Aurora is, imo, an outstanding little knife! I don't have too many small knives though, but the smaller BRK-models are really gaining my interest right now.

Thank you, Jay! I almost got a bit nostalgic watching this video again, lol. One of the first videos I ever made and put up on YT. Tbh, I want to make a ton of new videos, but I just haven't gotten to it ... I will try to put some videos out in the not to distant future! (Y)

I have the liton boro. It is between the original version and the mini version. I find it is a happy medium.

The Aurora’s a very nice looking knife you have a nice collection my friend. It would be nice if they made it in cruwear.

Thank you! This is a very nice series indeed, and there will be a few models made in 2018 in a few different steels; among them the Auora and Auora LT in Cru-wear. Btw. the only Aurora I do not yet own is the Aurora Special Edition - Scandi-grind in A2 - which was released not too long ago ...

Very well done comparison review. How would you compare the Minnie Aurora to the Ultra Lite Bushmaster?

Pink G10 I currently purchased an ULB and have really feel in love with the knife. For me it does everything I need, other than splitting kindling, with amazing precision. Before I purchased this knife I was in the market for an Aurora. Now im going back and forth between the Aurora and mini Aurora. Do you have any advise? Is there a big difference between the ULB and mini Aurora? Is the handle more or less comfortable? more filling? I use my knifes strictly for bushcrafting and would like this knife for fire prep.

Sammy Muraaby Pink g10 has another video where he compares the ULB and the mini aurora. I purchased ULB in g10 based on the information provided by this channel and questions answered directly by pink g10. I have been researching for a while. I don’t have the money to buy several knives so picking the right knife is important. Look at mini kephart in 3v as well. Let me know if you need help finding the video which compares the two knives.

I think that the Mini-Aurora has a somewhat more comfortable handle as well as a more aesthetically appealing design, but I really do think that the ULB is the better performer over all. And in my world, performance is what really counts. To sum it up; the ULB and the Mini-Aurora are both excellent knives, with a few respective pros and cons, but I also think there is no need, or at least no rush, to get a Mini-Aurora if you already own the ULB. If you feel the need for an Aurora-model, I would go with something bigger to complete the (somewhat small) ULB. Here are some reference videos of mine: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y8iFlKhmqazMpKc.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j7uWYMKm1JyYZ2Q.html There may ofc be other videos out there, not made by me, which showcase and compare these two models. Go out and enjoy that ULB as soon as you get it! I'm sure you'll like it a lot!

Great collection. It's nice to see that you picked a Bark River with a white pearl Kirinite handle. That's something you don't see everyday. Would you tell me your opinion about this handle material? (maybe compared to other materials (BRKT knives) like micarta, wood, pinecone etc.) I heard that the pinecone handles (which are "acrylic" too) aren't that durable.
@PinkG10
@PinkG10 7 жыл бұрын
I have no experience with pinecone handles, and for a reason: They can look quite stunning, imo, but I'm afraid of them breaking, since I'm fairly sure they are more fragile and prone to cracking. Kirinite should be on a whole nother level in toughness. Or so I've been informed. I haven't done any hard use with this one, and since it's a Mini-Aurora, I never will put it through any chopping, batoning or other really hard work. Micarta and G-10 are the toughest handle options, the Kirinite should hold up well too. I've had no problem with Desert Ironwood, Buckeye Burl and a few different stabilized Burls; but I've not put them through hell either. (Y)

Thanks for your fast answer. I just ordered a Survivor in 3V with a white pearl Kirinite handle (I already have a Survivor in A2) and mosaik pins because I really love the look of this white Kirinite but since it's my first knife with this handle material I'm just curious what I've to expect.

I have been trying to get a custom sheath made for my regular aurora to be piggy backed by the mini but they keep saying they are to close to the same size. Idk what to do..frustrating

I wear a large glove. Some fit tight so I'm a bit bigger than large. Please tell me. How thick are these handles and do the liners add width? Thanks

you prefer aurora 1 or 2? any reasons? and for a few days survival mode, do you think A2 is more suitable than 3V, due to its easiness to get sharpened?

Is Aurora carbon fiber worth the extra $60?
@PinkG10

Only if you really like the looks of it. And imo, it sure looks good. It's ligther than most other handle-materials, buit it's not stronger or tougher than say Micarta or G10.
