I'm so excited about these old bikes! After 25 years of sitting in a barn, let me show you around them a little bit before I dig in deep! I'm glad you're here.

I had a 1972 Honda SL175. it was great! Wish I’d kept it! My best friend has a SL125. We were the only 2 kids in high school that road bikes. My brother-in-law had a CB350. Cheers

The CB175 was a great little bike. I had one on the late seventies, it took me around the South Island of New Zealand one summer, crazy when I think back on it now.

If you even look at those plastics wrong they will break on ya. We just finished our butterscotch 71 cb175 and are working on a red 71 cb350. I don't think I've found a Honda yet that has the original plastic on the levers that are in perfect shape. Usually end up peeling it off. Great finds!

Man, I had both of those. Gold 350 and blue and white 175. Goose bumps man.

I was 10 years old in 1971. There was a husband and wife that had the exact same matching bikes. They would ride past the house together in the morning and in the afternoon, on their daily commute to and from work. I thought that was pretty cool as a 10-year-old. That's an awesome find. Be good to them, don't part one out. They deserve to be kept together as a couple.

Thanks for sharing that. I absolutely agree

Those selenium rectifiers can be a pain, just keep it for show and put a modern regulator underneath. Most parts from other sizes are the same despite the year. Hope the wiring loom is ok, mechanically should be fine as they were well made.
@JMCAero4 ай бұрын
Great idea, I appreciate that! Yeah most of the loom itself is hard as a rock but the harness seems to be great underneath. Minimal corrosion and such. Thanks for your input man!

I am only 5 minutes in... but if you were me and I were you. I would clear coat both machines and put them in the living room. Living art work ❤ Beautiful score my dude!

Man you and I def think alike! I'm basically gonna do just that after I knock all the rust off lol. These dudes were made to run and be used and thats what's gonna happen to them! they'll live in the living room when not on the road for sure! Thanks for the comment, my guy!

Awesome find man! Can't wait to see what becomes of them. Also I found a mirror in the dirt when I got back if you want it. They have a good home now.

I'm pumped, brother! Set it aside for me, if you don't mind. I'll dust off the old bag of discs and get in touch 👍🏻

Awesome video. Half way though I was like, I’ll sub for this guy, and I checked your sub count and I was shocked that you only had 174. I figured you would have thousands based on how well your video is.

That means a lot to me, thanks for the positivity! And the sub!

Take the plugs out so you don't hydraulic the engine when it turns over. Shouldn't have oil in the stator. Oil and electrics don't mix well.
@JMCAero4 ай бұрын
Oil bath stators are pretty normal, man.
@pirateracingnz98464 ай бұрын
The seventies Hondas had an oil passage to the alternator so it’s normal for that oil to be there. I have had 14 70’s Hondas of all types and a 450 for 17 years. I would be more careful with the alternator wiring just inside the chain cover as they can crack the insulation off after time

Man that would be super cool to have! Hey we may have to figure something out if I can't find those a little more locally. The exhausts on my 175 are DONE lol

I absolutely will not, my friend. It's currently taken all the way apart and being stored inside out of the weather.
