We rescued this incredible twin barn find gas pump that has been sitting for over 40 years. In this video I attempt to get it up and running again. Mechanical and electrical issues were very challenging! Will it run again???

Hello my friend, Yes what you mentioned is so true! One example I own a 1955 Westinghouse coke refrigerated chest and it runs reliably in my shop office with original Freon , compressor and wiring to this day. We give away free water and soda to our automotive customers daily. Years ago American companies built quality products. Thank you for visiting and leaving a comment today. GPR

Way to get these gas pumps running again. Now if only you can find some gas that sells for 15 1/2 and 17 1/2 cents per gallon to hook these pumps up to!! 😊😊

Wow that’s so cool. Fascinating they still come on. I have a few old pumps and I like buying them complete but never made them run and pump. Seeing them do their thing is what gets me going

It’s a very interesting gas pump. I have only seen a few painted shiny with all the internal components gone. This is a industrial work of art imo

James Cagney, was a great American actor and dancer. I have not heard anyone mention his name in quite a while. Thanks for watching my visiting my video. Drive out here to California and I will fill your gas tank with 15 1/2 cent Petro😂😂😂

Thank you very much. Today’s pumps along with many other things will end up in a recycling facility within ten years at best. It’s amazing how well this machine was built. Bennett’s motto was “Quality Built “

@@user-xz9dn2ub1x I have only seen one or two people displaying a current modern pump. I do see 70s muscle car guys collecting the stainless steel ones from the 1970s time period.

I like how you said don't try this at home or in your shop and said thank you after saying get a qualified repairman to do the wiring. I bet you your dad was something like mine kind of mechanical. And I heard it do I say to do it not how I actually do it. Don't ever do this. And then one day I heard that you always show me how not to do it. Oops!

I can almost guarantee you that this will pump gas if I had tried. I felt suction at the inlet after it ran a few minutes. They belts are a but frazzled lol

@@gaspumprob okay I left a few one-liners. But your work on the video and the pump was top-notch. I would use those green Yates brand v belts. They look to be a standard not rebuilt for everyone call them. Does green area culture belts man they just hold up for about everything, including AGE. You probably know this but that's her agricultural industrial line. I know you put a lot of work into this it just shows. And the inside that brass fitting looking so good. The dial faces look like they're brand new! And then nearly old! I don't know if it James Cagney who it was but I gave him credit. Instead of using doll face I referred to as dial faces🤣🤣🤣👽 Here's another one that came to mind but I did not use. In California you had those anti-shatter protection for the light bulbs. You mean even before prop 8 they had prop 8!???? Maybe it's not to cancel thing but you no I'm saying highly regulated.
