In order to keep our recommendations up to date, we maintain a 'Buyer's Guide' on our Patreon page (with a wide spectrum of models, and a lot of technical and lifestyle-related information). Organizing our recommendations this way makes it easier to include good models that we haven't made review-videos for yet, as well as to remove models which have developed unforeseen wear-issues over time, or which have been weakened by the manufacturer in their current iterations. You can access it here: www.patreon.com/posts/stroller-buyers-37953864 As an independent, consumer-oriented reviewer, we have fewer revenue-streams open to us than the majority of other channels out there, so we do ask for a small donation for access to this guide (as well as a free consultation and access to our other Patreon content). Thanks so much for your help!

Thanks for the video!It's been very helpful and we have decided, based on it, to buy a used 2019 City Elite (the bassinet included) for 350euros, which I think is a great deal. Keep the good work up!

Hi and thanks for all your videos. I’m a new subscriber and find it really helpful. I’m torn between the buffalo and City Elite. We live in London. The paths and curbs are pretty bumpy. We have a new born and is currently at car seat stage but I know that’ll pass quick and it’ll be possibly bassinet. Budget is an issue. I’d prefer the Elite simply for folding and storage. However, I’m not seeing much about maxi C seat adapters or any bassinet type things for new born for CElite on the used market. I’ve sourced a decent Buffalo (I think, as long as it isn’t fake) for a good price, so I guess I should go with that and then migrate to the CElite later. Would’ve been nice to simply get one pram and have it the whole time. perhaps our UK second hand used market differs from elsewhere. Anyhow, just talking through my choice after combing through your reviews and videos and seeing if there’s any other advice yourself or folk could add. I initially was searching for a Bee3 as my wife didn’t want a big pram, but then I kinda went off of them. I guess I should also check the Stokke Scoot. But again,, I’m buying used. Cheers for all.

Hi Dean, Glad you like our videos. :) The City Elite has a slight edge over the Buffalo for terrain and overall sturdiness, as well as being cheaper. Both of these are light-years above the scoot or the Bee. I would, personally, just keep looking for a bassinet for a little bit, and maybe skip the car seat adapters, it's actually not good for newborns to sit in car seats more than neccessary as it impedes blood flow. Mechanically, though, it sounds like you're looking in the right places, both the Buffalo and the Elite are awesome :)

Ive recently purchased this stroller, and I love it! The only thing I wish it had is something similar to the multi x bag from TFK. But then again, Its easier to fold without a V bassinet on so switching from the bassinet to the seat fabric has Its perks. Ive never had a problem with it being unstable, I attach my diaperbag on the side instead of the handlebar and I can fit a lot of stuff in the basket underneath (two grocery bags filled with stuff). On the off chance I need more space I can always wear a backpack but I rarely need to. I saw someone put a city select seat on this stroller using an adapter the other day. Would you think that is safe? Or should I stick to using it forward facing? Do you think parents make a bigger deal out of that than it actually is? I used a forward facing seat for a long time with my oldest son and used the peekabo windows to see him (and he would look at me through them). He didnt seem to mind

Thank you for your great videos! You have helped us immensely, and the City Elite is now one of very few contenders. However, Baby Jogger have recently released the City Elite 2, about which it is nearly impossible to find information. Their website gives the impression that the main difference is a new suspension. Do you have any insights to offer on the City Elite 2? With kind regards, Rasmus

Hello! Thanks to your super detailed review, I bought the city Elite :) I was lucky enough to find it here in Quebec, it was not an easy task since it seems like the stores dont have it anymore! And I found it at a very reasonnable price too (30% discount) probably because they won't sell it anymore ! I am super excited, thanks a lot! I was wondering, do you know if I could fit a bassinette from the same brand on this stoller with an adapter? I tried to find the answer on internet but I couldnt find anything..

Hi! I have been researching strollers with the help of your videos for weeks now. I want a 3-wheeled stroller, not for jogging, but all-terrain purpose. I found a used 2011 City Elite that looks to be in good condition for $100. Anything that I should worry about? I have a 2007 Bugaboo Cameleon now that my 9mo has almost outgrown. I have lots of trouble with Cameleon going over uneven sidewalks.

Right on. :) The most common areas with problems are the brake system (just check that it brakes and releases fully, you can remove the wheels to check the pin), the central folding mechanism (check that it folds up and down smoothly. And also check that the arms don't feel loose - a part of this is checking that the screws and nuts are visible in the universal adapers on either side - the part that the canopy and bumper bar connect to). Front wheel issues, either a stuck swivel lock or a loose front wheel axle are also common, but are generally easy to fix yourself - so if you notice that the front wheel is loose or the swivel lock doesn't engage, you could use this to haggle on the price and then use our guides to fix it :)

What are your thoughts on the new city elite? IT seems to be missing that bar up by the handle like the GT2, do you think that potentially could be an even bigger problem in the elite2? Since its more likely to be but through rougher use? I like that its thinner folded and seems to have a sligthly more accecible basket + improved suspension. The pricepoint is quite high though
@BarnevognverkstedNo
@BarnevognverkstedNo 4 жыл бұрын
We'll be doing the Elite 2 soon, but yes, I agree, the missing cross-bar will probably be a bigger problem for the Elite 2. And the price could also afford to come down a little, but it probably will when it's not so new anymore. :)

@BarnevognverkstedNo
@BarnevognverkstedNo 4 жыл бұрын
2015 is new enough, but it's really all going to come down to how hard it's been used. Check that the brakes function as they should, and pay particular attention to the central fold (does it fold down and open up smoothly?), also closely examine the bars that stretch up from the central fold to the handle (are they bent? can you see the 2 screwheads and nuts present in the adapter which the canopy is attached to on both sides, watch this video to see what I'm talking about: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hLChdbWHtbvYfas.html). Check that the lower rear frame is not cracking down by the crossbar. Don't worry about a loose front fork, or a non-functioning swivel lock, these are easy to fix (do use problems here as grounds for haggling though).

Have you found the canopy to be slightly flimsy? I pushed my daughter in this stroller for the first time and the rear section of canopy with the vinyl peekaboo window had a hard time staying extended when I went over the slightest sidewalk bump or even with a little bit of wind. Do you know if this is a mechanical issue that can be fixed with tightening the screws? I can replace the frame but wasn’t sure if maybe this particular model just had this issue, don’t want to replace it if it’s gonna have the same issue. Thanks!
@BarnevognverkstedNo
@BarnevognverkstedNo 3 жыл бұрын
This is often because the velcro in the back is positioned so that the canopy is too tight, thus preventing the hinged mechanisms from finding the extended locking point - or - the canopy has been removed for a wash and when reassembled, the bars or folding mechanisms were not put back in the right place. :)

@BarnevognverkstedNo
@BarnevognverkstedNo 4 жыл бұрын
It's still available in Europe, so probably a regional discontinuation. The TFK adventure 2 is nice as well, just a little less handy to fold, otherwise, the Babyjogger Summit x3 is nice as well if you're looking for the offroad / ruggedness aspects of the elite (it actually outperforms the elite in these respects), but is a bit bigger and heavier. :)

I would say my order of favorites for these conditions would be: City Elite, Trailz, Vista, Fox (or maybe the upcoming Lynx, looks a bit simpler in the mechanisms, but I have to get ahold of one to be sure). Priam will probably be a bit bumpy on cobblestones. The discontinued Bugaboo Buffalo ties the Elite for 1st slot :)

@@velmag583 for a big toddler I would go for the elite. The seat is so large. My son of 5 still fits! Not that he actually rides in it though he just jumps in it sometimes when we're out and his brother isnt in the seat. The Fox he would outgrow soon. The trailz lasts longer but is quite hevay to push when you have a Heavy toddler in it. The elite I can still push one handed with my 5 year old in it.

Hi! So I have my Elite and I finally opened it up today. I had a question regarding the handle. When I adjust it, and when it locks into place, the spring makes a sound. Kind of like a bellish sound. Hmm, how do I explain it, like a ting? Lol... What could be the reason for this? Is this fixable, or will it just go away over time? Thanks!
@BarnevognverkstedNo
@BarnevognverkstedNo 4 жыл бұрын
Try putting it on its side, and spraying around the button on the affected side with some silicon spray and see if this fixes it. I haven't gotten a chance to disassemble the Elite 2 yet, but this sounds like a loose washer on the rivet that runs through the handle adjustment mechanism, so if the silicon spray doesn't fix it, I would consider sending it back for another one. :)

I just sold my city premier because of the wheels. I went on a train that was dirt and could barley maneuver my stroller. Will I have this issue with the elite? Or does it glide like a jogging stroller?
@BarnevognverkstedNo
@BarnevognverkstedNo 4 жыл бұрын
The Elite is light years better than the premier on rough terrain. It's not a jogging stroller, imo, but it is definitely an off-road stroller. For actually jogging, you should get a dedicated jogging stroller (3 wheel, fixed wheel, adjustable tilt, dynamic brakes). Check out this video, to help you pick the right stroller for your needs regarding all this: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jqd5i9lyz7KzgZ8.html :)

It's a wear-thing. The model is actually not made to be a jogging stroller (the Summit is though). A little jogging can be ok, if the way is pretty flat, but over time, there can be loosening and damage, in particular with the front fork and the arms as they enter the central locking mechanism. :)
