Barney Error - Before The Finale

Sometime during 1997, an official Barney computer virus named "Barney Error" (alternatively Virus.Win9x.Barn) was created by some unknown developers who were supposedly hired by Sheryl Leach, designed for children as a 'parental control test'. How it was able to spread to other computers is still unknown.
The virus payload would activate a few minutes after it appears on a computer's hard drive, closing all open programs and making the user wait five minutes, giving them six chances to refrain from closing the program. If the timer goes down to zero, the program would close by itself. Each time the program is closed, the timer would increase. If closed six times, the program would scare the user, then delete every file on the hard disk, leaving the computer unable to boot.
This video is the only known recording of the Barney Error computer virus in action. It was recorded on June 28th, 1997 at 6:07 PM. The person who recorded this video is unknown, but the contents of the video show the destructive nature of the virus. Viewer discretion is advised.
...you're still here? Well, I guess an out-of-character paragraph is in order. I made this video to showcase how I think Barney Errors would actually go if they existed, back in the day or otherwise. This is the first concept I have of a Barney Error that somehow makes sense, with the second one to be revealed in Barney Error 150. I was inspired by stuff like Greenio's Super Mario 64 tapes ( • 09.02.97 ) and CAG's Early Barney Error ( • Rare Footage of Early ... ) to make this video. It was made to look and sound like it's running on a Windows 95 computer. Mostly everything has been done in Paint.NET, DaVinci Resolve 16 and Game Maker 8. I hope you enjoy this video! I'm gonna take a break for two weeks, and then I'm gonna get to work on Barney Error 150.

I'm legit impressed by this. You took a cringy thing from a cringy fandom and turned it into something good, even nailed that old 90's aesthetic too.

Little known fact: When the Barney Error was spread to computers in other countries, it was left unlocalized. That meant for example if the Barney Error was spread to a computer in France, Egypt, or Japan, the text and voice clips would remain in its original English language, and the user would likely be confused at what's going on because the error is in a language the user does not understand.

As much as I hate coppa for forcing me to mark all of my videos as not for children because of the mini screen problem because when you got a mini screen the video automatically stops which is stupidly impractical I would agree with them about the real Barney error atleast about to jump scare anyway

Most of these Barney “errors” are usually cringy and made poorly on goanimate, but damn this is one really nice! It also feels realistic.

Barney errors should’ve been like this all along, as timer reductions/PC upgrades more seem like rewards, and the errors themselves make no sense most of the time.

I was absolutely amazed by this Barney Error, it's a lot more realistic and crazy accurate compared to almost any other that I know of. The idea of having an experimental program on your computer to monitor your kids behavior didn't really stand out to me, but it's incredibly well executed. This shows proof that CECOfficial is improving at this kind of stuff. The only thing that I didn't like too much was the jumpscare at the end. It completely throws out some of the sense of realism that it once had, and isn't that scary to me, but probably enough to scare some young kids to teach them a lesson about listening. I think if this was in fact real, it would be used to limit the child's usage on the computer. I wasn't expecting anything amazing, but apparently that's what I got, and I'm completely astounded by it. Keep it up CECOfficial. You're one of my favorite Barney Error creators to this day.

Forget what I said about your Commadore 64 video, this is literally the best Barney Error I've literally ever seen from you, and it's crazy accurate. It doesn't ground you unlike any other Barney Error and it actually makes a lot more sense.

Even though I respect your opinion on Barney, I am adding this video to my good aesthetic vaporwave videos playlist anyways. Also you did a good job with this video even though it’s fake, it even looks incredibly real.
