When Characters are well written and performed you forget they’re not real people.

I was a young teen when this aired, great sitcom,most cop shows were detective so this was different in it's day. Only thing that hurts is seeing the twin towers in the opening theme song. Thank you for memories.

Interesting to think Fish was the only one to get his own spin-off series simply called "Fish". You can find it here on youtube.

Never liked this show as a kid but now that I’m older can appreciate it and see why so many people liked it. What cracks me up is how they would send out detectives on the strangest of assignments, a pornographic bakery?

Mr. Bender is a lovable character

James Gregory was always a good solid actor, but on this show he’s a great comic actor.

Seen Goodbye Mr. Fish so many times... yet today... It left me with tears in my eyes once again. Immaculate acting. The last scene with the boys looking straight at the lens when they freeze the shot is one of the most poignant moments in BM history.

That freaks me out, hearing them talk like 1997 is so far off; not only that, I was 17 the last time I watched this, and Fish seemed ancient then. He mentions he’s 63 here, and I’m 62. Freaky.

Abe vigoda died Jan 26 2016 he was 94 years old

These guys were the best!! I am nostalgic.

One problem I always had with WGN (as in WGn America) was its cutting of episodes for more ad and promo time. If you want complete episodes, buy the series (or individual seaosns)

I think they spun off Fish a year to early and screwed up the whole character. Should’ve brought him back after Fish was canceled.

I love the show I love the actors but as I binge watch these I don’t like how they reuse them. Especially the character actors who played the store owners and the criminals you see the same ones in different roles.
