According to one of Sylar's videos, after a single heat blast, the armored baron can be faltered with other falter methods as well.

I like to think demons get promoted like a Hell knight gets promoted into a Dread knight and finally a Baron of Hell, and then an imp into a prowler and finally an archville or some shit

I like how Barons take less damage from the lock on, as it is usually an easier method to instantly dish out high damage

People always talk about Gargoyles sniping you from a distance, but for me it's Barons that always oneshot me from afar when I'm low and retreating to get resources. Respect their projectiles! Wish they weren't so easy to stunlock though...kinda trivializes them when they should be the highest pressure units. Classic Barons couldn't be stunned AT ALL.

Classic Barons were little more than damage sponges TBH. Plasma rifle or rocket launcher would soon deal with them. Also, from what I've seen, stunning the knights/Barons does seem to be a specialty of the chaingun more than anything.

Not sure why, but I've really been enjoying my fights against Barons lately. Just so fun to meathook off of them and pelt them with everything. Then come down and use bloodpunch with supershotgun.

I only really have trouble with barons when they’re in large groups of monsters. The dread knight and hell night gorge me a lot more trouble

I wish the Armored Baron had a different skin color (pink) to add variation and please fans who like the 2016 one more, especially considering how it doesn't even have ranged attacks or fire blades. I prefer the Eternal Baron but still.

that would be nice the only problem would be that the 2016 barons are far weaker than the fireborne ones as they could be one shot by the bfg tendrils

There is a PC mod I use that makes it have the 2016 look, along with the green fire; but still retain its aggression from Eternal. I recommend you try it out

Yeet blast tech is the best thing to start with against an armored baron provided you aren't going to hit the weakpoint to break the armor

People out there complaining about marauders and tyrants, but for me these guys are the hardest enemies. The Spirit ones from Ancient Gods are downright unfair.

I reccomend using the unmakyr on them. It's the one time its actually pretty useful.

Will there be an analysis on staggering in general? The enemy overviews don't really go into that. Though I can imagine that staggering is so inconsistent in this game that it's near impossible to reverse-engineer.

hey I quite new to modding or console commands in doom could you tell me how you get multiple brains to spawn through console commands like u did at the end of the video cheat engine is required right? and to prevent them from moving or attacking the console command is no AI of something along those lines right ? it wud be of great help if u cud explain me any of this. Breaking it down like this makes the armored baron concept actually interesting, it's too bad that the armor is completely invalidated by shooting the glowing green mace

Stellar video again man! One thing to note: Lock-on deals 1800dmg (same as 2 rockets). You shot 4 volleys, that’s 7200, 200 over the Baron’s health. So imo it’s not thr Barons’ resistance, rather the mod’s own weakness in ammo consumption. Barons are also weak to Remote-Det like CyberMancubi and DoomHunters, you can falter them infinitely with the concussive blast upgrade.

Revert to hell/dread knights video. Hell knights have 2.5k hp, and they die from single lock on burst, while dread knights stagger with their 3k hp pool. Which means that lock on burst does 2700 dmg

No lock on burst does the same damage as normal rockets, the damage of the individual lock on burst rockets does less on a few select demons.

That’s actually crazy though. Reading it out: 2700 is just unabashedly high damage for a single alt-fire. I like to play with my food lol.

My observations - In the base game, it's effective for everyone except the Icon on Sin. it's better to BFG the Icon. (I have no idea about it's effectiveness on Khan Maykr, but it's better to use Lock On Burst on her anyways). Marauders only get a very short green eye falter if you falter with Unmaykr. Better to falter him with SSG/PB then spam Unmaykr. Works pretty well on other super heavies, Cyber Mancubus and Pain Elementals. Not worth it to use it on heavies/fodder (unless you are using Infinite Ammo cheat to farm Event XP on Final Sin like I was and spam Unmaykr on everyone because it's easy af).

honestly i don't get why the unmaykr is damn near useless in terms of unique functions in this game. why not have it good against maykr enemies and have it be another thing that can melt the armored baron's armor? or have it be the only thing that can go through the chaingunner's shield? just do something with it, ffs.
