Hello my dear friends,
it is a great feeling to be with you again. As always, I missed your comments, your thoughts, and talking about them together. Your comments always make me very happy; craft, aesthetics, perception, perspective, dimensions, distances...
I know that we have a lot in common with you, so I prepare my works and stories meticulously.
You are witnessing the hard work and days of a craftsman. I try to present my whole workshop life to you as naturally as possible. I hope you will enjoy watching as I did while working.
In this work, I share with you the restoration and woodworking of three baroque coat rack hooks. The ornaments of these hooks made of brass metal are quite beautiful. These brass metal objects had many casting defects and were also not leveled. Of course, they were also exposed to misapplications over time.
I worked with patience and diligence. I think they eventually turned into jewels. They turned out so beautiful that I wanted them to be always in front of my eyes on the wall and i decided to make a wall coat rack. Next to such an ornate and beautiful object, the wooden part should have been calm, simple, strong and aesthetic. As usual, I decided on the final form in the process. I like to follow the flow of the wood. Brass metal, copper and wood are embodied in this long work. I am very happy to have documented such an artisan work. You will see many nice scenes about restoration, woodworking, wood finishing , wood stain, rasping, vintage hand tools and how to use them, hand mill, lathe work etc.
At many points i had to work like a sculptor. In my woodwork, I really love the meeting of the full grain and end grain and you will see that. Kind of a live edge wood form.
I preferred scrap wood for woodworking. I love the regeneration and recycling of waste wood. It's actually a kind of upcycle.
As a result; wooden and brass metal objects that do not overshadow each other...
I was very satisfied with the result.
While presenting all this craft work to you, I tried to share my aesthetic perception and beauty philosophy with you as much as possible and as always, I added my love for nature and animals.
Also as always, my dear cat co-workers were very helpful in this project.
I hope you like this work of mine, where I live many seasons of life together.
PS;
I broke my two ribs after I broke the kitty mug :)

Average Woodworker: 'I love how this stain brings out the grain of the wood." BOH: "Hold my coffee." Proceeds to bring out the actual grain of the wood. Joking aside: Sir, I love your videos, not just filming of the work, but the small touches that can go unnoticed. Such as the transition from the carved duo of birds to the duo of real doves. Or the laying of the apron on the anvil at the start of the video to the picking it up and hanging it on your "new" coat rack at the end. Thank you again for your craft.

Oh how I missed watching you work. I never get tired of it. I thought you were crazy at first when I saw the wood piece you selected and how you were doing it. Eventually I smacked myself into realizing that the aesthetic of it was absolutely gorgeous to say the least. The time and patience you took to remake the hooks and fix the deficits in them was more than amazing. I am sorry to hear that you were injured and hope that you are well now. I loved your Kitty mug and of course, I love watching your cats. They are too adorable. Thank you for continuing to show just how beautiful old things can truly be.

Great story and even greater craftsmanship! Enjoyed your fine videography and what you did with the brass and wood was a match made in old school heaven. Always amazes me how many tools it takes to do the Zen work and Details. Nice touch using brass screws this time and the copper rivet/nails was a good trick to remember. BTW, I was watching you have your coffee break and looking at that hot cup of coffee and I got this graving for 15 year old extra sharp yellow cheddar cheese, that’s my all time favorite desert/ treat with a piping hot cup of coffee, just a few slivers of cheese at a time, great enjoyment.

Thank you, I am a wood tradesmen for 41 years and theirs nothing more enjoyable than picking up a vintage tool that is finely restored and tuned and making something beautiful with it. Dear friend, The amount of time and the effort you obviously put into your videos are self-evident and I want you to know that it is noticed and appreciated. The way you constantly change the camera angles shows the enormous thought that goes into the filming of each of your videos. You are not only a very skilled craftsman, and an excellent teacher through example, you are also a talented videographer with a keen eye for detail and a truly creative mind. Rest assured that your aesthetic perception and beauty philosophy are not lost on us. Thank you for all your hard work!

I didn't know where you were going with the wood sculpting, but I knew it was a journey worth watching and I wasn't disappointed as it turned out quite wonderful. my own personal tastes would have had the wood slightly larger than the brass, but thats not intended as a criticism in any way as it is still a lovely reclamation of old and unused bits. As always thank you for sharing with us - best regards from Scotland

Hi, Great work cool outcome! About 20 years ago I made a bowl from a piece of old (only fit for the fire) pine I think it was. I was just starting out on the turning hobby so any wood I could lay my hands on was game so thought this would make a good practice piece. It was a bit of a mediocre bowl so because of the grain I decided to do what you did to this piece and give it a good wire brushing to the top and sides the inside was left smooth, the transformation was amazing, the grain really popped and had a great feel to it. That bowl turned out to be one of my faves, This has just reminded me of that bowl. TFS (Thanks for sharing), GB :)
