First video in a little series of videos about baroque improvisation. We will practice and steal musical ideas from the Bach inventions to add to our melodic, rhythmic and contrapuntal ideas when improvising!
I plan on posting a new video every 2 weeks (exact day tbd.) so that we have time to practice one of the inventions in this time frame. In this first video, I simply introduce invention 1 (bwv 772) and share general practice tips for baroque pieces
I also give a few tips geared specifically to practicing pieces in a way which makes it easier to deduce compositional/improvisational ideas, such as focusing on weird but logical fingerings.
