In retrospect, Baroque Works early on was probably doing a good job keeping new pirate crews from making their way through the Grand Line. Kinda like how Smoker probably bottlenecked the entire East Blue from the Grand Line as a Logia.

ya know, we all thought Crocodile trying to take on Whitebeard after arriving in the New World sounded super dumb, like what did he expect, but remember, Kid and his alliance tried to take on Kaido right after getting to the New World, AND Luffy and the Straw Hats have only been in the New World for a couple, maybe a few months and have already taken on two Yonko so it really wasn't that crazy of a thing for Crocodile to do

No, the Kid, On Air and Hawkins pirates alliance planned to take on Shanks, but then Kaidou showed up on their island and Kid fought him and got imprisoned in Udon.

Kidd took out Big Mom's allies making him an enemy on her and then planned to take on Shanks and lost his arm to him, making him an enemy of Shanks, then he fought Kaido and became his enemy, he is the enemy of 3 Yonko and side note, Killer going crazy gave me chills

So tekking knows all robushiki but due to his lack of haki training he wont be able to deal a killing blow to barry however barry who has mastered robushiki and all forms of haki including conquers haki could probably defeat tekking but tekking would last very long with his fruits ability

After the Impel Down Arc, I can firmly say that no other characters can have a criminal organizational bond as good as Mr. 0 & Mr. 1 I can't imagine them both not working with each other!!

Btw, what Zoro learned during his fight against Mr. 1 wasn't Observation Haki, it was Armament Haki. It's revealed in Wano when Hyogoro explains to Luffy what Ryou is. I believe he even uses the same example Zoro used, which was being able to cut stone but not a leaf, according to the swordsman's desire. The confusion comes from Zoro calling it "The Breath of All Things" which is similar to the power to hear the voices of all living beings that stems from Observation Haki.

@@Mr-ON its because oda didn't plan for robin to be that color but the anime made her it, which i prefer, but after the timeskip they changed her to her intended colour. Kind of makes sense canonically because she spent all that time in Alabasta then went to tequila wolf which is snowy and cold as hell. Zoro and Usopp also got slightly lighter.

Ace didn't sacrificed for Luffy, duh. They could've just escaped like they were doing but Ace and his dumb ass had to fall for the obvious trap of Akainu. Ace died because he was an idiot, he almost got Luffy killed and made that all that lives that died trying to save him were for nothing

@@borjadecoy25 You have to remember though, Luffy collapsed from the Hormone treatment wearing off, and that’s why Akainu went for Luffy. Ace didn’t die fighting Akainu, he died jumping in front of Luffy’s paralyzed body. Ace might not have known it but if he didn’t distract Akainu at first, it could have easily resulted in Luffy’s death. In a series heavily based on Fate, there is just too many what-ifs to try to apply to it.

Id like to think that mr. 13 and miss friday became sketch artists for the military and got their first assignment like “we encountered the straw hats and got all their pictures except for black leg Sanji. Mr 2 Bon Clays name confused me when I first started discussing one piece online. Since I read the Swedish translation up to somewhere around water seven where he is named mr 2 Häggosyren. This refers to a saying “Between hägg and syren“, hägg and syren being 2 bushes that flowers shortly after each other and the time between them supposedly being the time of the Bon Clay festival.

Well Caesar spent the first part of his arc in a gaseous disguise, so maybe Crocodile could do the same with his Sand Fruit? Actually it's kinda weird only Caesar could do that, you think more Logias would use that feature.

Akainu could be in a lava state, Eneru used a lightning form (Ameru??). So it's possible it's just Caesar is one of only two gas fruits and smoker doesn't normally use his fruit to coat himself.

@@soupryu well yeah but both Akainu and Eneru were doing it as attacks (I think for Akainu). Caesar was just doing it as a look, but I guess it would make sense if it was just the gaseous Logias

@@applesmcfoolishness8536 I think Caesar is the only one who would actually use his fruit like that lol. Akainu is a hard ass and Kizaru and Aokiji physically can't. Smoker wouldn't waste his power like that, caribou is to dumb to. Sabo I don't think would but we haven't seen a lot of sabo so ehh. Eneru had a lightning appearance but it was more of a battle mode then anything. Blackbeard has made his back darkness before but I am not to sure what that's about.

Crocodile is probably still my favorite One Piece villain, even after so long! Loving that you've finally made a Baroque Works video! HOWEVER, I am still waiting for that ~20+ minute video on Wyper, the best single arc character in the series is my opinion, because he deserves it! Do it for the mohawk and burn bazooka if nothing else, Matt!

Earlier today I think I realized why Kaido’s artificial devil fruits were made from apples it’s because Oda was using a bible reference in the story of Adam and Eve the fruit they ate was an apple and another thing that reminded me of this was I remember watching an anime called “Spice and Wolf” and one of the characters from that show named Holo said that “Apples are full of a rich sweet temptation from hell” also because Kaido’s dragon form has a serpent-like appearance and in the story of Adam and Eve it said the devil appeared before them in the form of a snake and tempted Adam and Eve to eat the forbidden fruit. Of course I’m just spit balling here.

Correction to be made: You stated that Mr 5 and Ms Valentine were the first members of Baroque Works we saw in the story, which is incorrect. It was Mr 9 and and Ms Wednesday (Vivi) who we met first, while inside Laboon at Reverse Mountain

When we were first introduced to Crocodile, he came off as being very opposite to Luffy. And he seemed to be not only disdainful, but borderline disgusted by idealistic dreams and especially the idea of trusting other people. And to me, it seemed like there was something _personal_ behind it. Like maybe his original crew deserted him or something.

Since Crocodile doesn't put much value in loyalty and trusting on your crew, maybe he lost his hand to a betrayal. And since he is (kinda) based off of Captain Hook, maybe the one who betrayed him is kind of based off of Peter Pan? That would be neat. Or he lost it because Whitebeard flexed so hard on him he accidentally ripped his hand out like you said. That works too.

if ambition translates to power in one piece. maybe the warlord system's real purpose is the subjugate potentially dangerous pirates, which in turn stunts their ambition and eventual haki. if you think about it, the best way to kill another persons ambition is to have them serve you. just had the thought. but it kinda makes sense. with hunting other pirates and being used as a war potential being secondary to trying to get as many future problems off the seas and stifling there potential power being primary.
