FYI: if you and your horse just can't get some of these drills down that's ok. The drills are supposed to challenge you and your horse. BUT if your horse is hurt you don't want to force them into doing it. If you're getting frustrated, take a break from the drill. Really hope this helps you guys out!

Loved these drills they helped me and my horse a lot will continue to use them. She shoulders a lot and get sassy when is work on the barrels a lot this took her mind off of it thank you!

Great vedio but consider getting the right bridle size the headstal was almost in the horses eyes

The paint is having trouble turning because of the headstall it's way to small it's in her eyes

You guys should do a video on how to get your horse counter arching and how to start your horse on barrels. As I just got a new horse and I'm planning on teaching him barrels.

I have to do this, poles, & keyhole at a horse shoiw at the end of September (‘18), and only have about a month to practice. It’ll be my first time ever competing in anything, & I’M SCARED SHITLESS LOL. These men & women go sooo fast. I respect them so much. I’m not entering the show to win, I’m entering to make my Dad, brother, other friends and family, my amazing instructor, & most importantly, make *myself proud*. Even if I totally mess up, it’ll make for a great experience. Wish me luck! I start training next week & then the show is the last Saturday of September. Eeeek!!!

Kudos for the video content! Sorry for the intrusion, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you heard about - Riddleagan Punting Profit Remedy (just google it)? It is a smashing one off guide for learning how to get rich on the horse racing without the normal expense. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my cooworker finally got astronomical success with it.

Is it true that if the rider is more balanced the horse will perform better when it doesn't have to compensate for an unbalanced rider?

Yes. Cause if you ain't balanced the horse isn't balanced. Your heavier side is pushing the horse that way causing them not being balanced and all.

I really need help, my horse is just naturally fast and she has done barrel racing before heaps of times and when I get my horse into a canter to go to the second barrel she goes really fast and when I slow her down she slows but she keep going forward. Pleas give me advise!

Do you have any tips on how to teach a barrel horse t pick-up the speed and run faster? My horse tends to be lazy.

Mykaela Hoppman my horse is the same way so what I do is doing more basic warm ups. I’ll ride around the arena asking for different speeds. When I do this and he keeps the speed for a couple laps, I’ll stop him and reward him. By doing this my horse has gotten a lot faster and he gives me his all when we ride.

Where do yous get your saddles from? do have them professionally fitted ?

Jessiey Maree We don't get them from specific places. Charity won hers in a roping and Katie and I bought ours. We try to make sure our horses are comfortable but we can't afford to get them custom made.

Hi I love this video and it has been exactly what I'm looking for lol,but the only thing I'm wondering is like on the first drill how do you keep from confusing your horse when your doing that like,I understand drills and stuff but have you ever had a horse turn a barrel on the wrong side in a competition since you worked on this drill? Like is it something that may confuse them when it comes time to race??

BarrelRacingPride 101 Our horses are all pretty well trained so we haven't really experienced them turning the wrong way in competition before, I understand how that could be an issue with different horses, if you are concerned that would happen I wouldn't recommend this specific drill for you're horse. Okay great advice,and I love these drills but now he is okay,but could you do some shouldering drills? Because my horse shoulders our first barrel? Or anymore drills for shouldering other than the one you demonstrated in the video?

The blonde girls drill (Don't know her name) doesn't work for me when I tried it my horse immediately thought he was supposed to go to a random barrel when I'm running the pattern

I would just make sure to go through the barrel pattern correctly after you do those drills. Also these drills are just to tune up your horse and get them thinking rather then letting them go into autopilot when running through the barrels. If you've got a pretty young/green horse these drills are probably not the best. Sorry for your confusion and hope this helps. Thanks for the feedback!

with inside leg you push the horse hind to the outside, outside reign(don't let the inside reign loose) you choose how tight you want the circle the more you pull on that outside reign the more tight the circle is going to be
