Vintage and modern supercars have become a staple of the collector car hobby - for good reason. With shapes to envy, colors to inspire and enough engineering wizardry to make the Saturn V rocket blush; the world of “supercardom” is really something to behold. At the 2021 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, the supercar presence was felt - and heard - in the auction arena. With high-performance machines from Maranello, Sant’Agata Bolognese and Detroit rumbling their way across the block, it was quite the spectacle, especially when the 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 wowed the crowd when it sold for an incredible $2.475 million. Tyler Hoover’s commentary is such a welcome addition to the coverage. He brings a youthful flair, but with the knowledge and experience of the older guys. Talk about talent. Can’t wait to see him playing a larger role as Barrett-Jackson continues to grow!

Honestly I had gotten away from Barrett-Jackson for the last several years. Admittedly, Tyler Hoover coming on board brought me back. I'm a big fan of his content on KZfaq, and his perspective reflects what a lot of my generation feels/sees/ projects in the car hobby. I think bringing him on really makes us in the 25-40 year old range feel like we have our voice present on the stage. Nice work, and I'm glad to see Barrett-Jackson still going strong!

Holy Mackerel! 1967 275 GTB! I drove one of these in 1972 in Redondo Beach. There was a gas station at 601 South Pacific Coast Hwy. (It was demolished and had some condos built there.) It was just parked there and it was for sale = $8000.00!!! The owner went to Brazil and left it there for some work done. Ed was the name of the mechanic and one day he asked to drive it onto the lift! I was 19 and told him I better not! So, he allowed me to bring it to the entrance. Boy! When I started it, and heard those 12 cylinder come alive I had goose bumps on my arms! I will always remember those few seconds! Most likely never again to be repeated!

I really enjoy seeing Tyler Hoover on the program. I think he brings a lot of knowledge on the newer and more exotic cars and is a joy to watch. Still a fan of all the original correspondents as well! I always look forward the Barrett-Jackson auction coverage.

Its usa. They pay milion or two for some weird looking custom car with 30 inches wheels and only 200k for legendary Diablo worth twice more if in good condition

It's so sad to see cars that just get bought as investment pieces rather than for their intended purpose. Cars made in the 2000s that aren't even doing 100 miles a year! Just takes them out the hands of people who'd actually enjoy them.

It's good to see that the blue Diablo has the pop up headlights as many of them have the fixed 300Z headlights. I just love the beautiful Bond Aston DBS. The 60's Ferrari 275 GTB/4 is worth every penny of its $2.25 Million final price. I once saw a yellow Ferrari 275 GTB in northern Michigan. Thanks.

I've been to the annual opener for forever, but missed it this year. We are located near Scottsdale, so it's convenient to go and want to attend other auctions in the future. As we have more car auctions than anywhere else in the world, and Mecum was here for the first time this year to 💪🏼😎

I still miss both Varsha and Matchette from their coverage of F1 on Speed years ago. Magnante is a servant only surpassed by perhaps Jay Leno. Love the addiction of Tyler Hoover. Great ensemble that would be hard to top. 👏

I have to say, all things considered the Ford GTs aren't fetching HUGE money. It used to be that you could use them as a good investment and get ROI but considering you're only "doubling" your money in 17 years, not that great ROI. I still remember hanging out at a dealership family members worked at and the sales manager came up to me and asked me if I was interested in buying a 2005 red with white stripes for $160,000 CDN. Seems someone put $20,000.00 down then walked away from the deal after the car came in.
