He has his wife of....Forever! It's beautiful and I am convinced she keeps him going. He decided to be grounded, honest, and giving when he was young - he promised himself something and he stuck with it. (and if I remember correctly, he was standing on a pier and his twin brothers make that pact, too).

I just can’t imagine her pain. I lost my precious beautiful son at 23 and 7 years later it’s still is heartbreaking and feels guttural. I can’t comprehend how one has to live through this three times . God bless her.. God bless Barry, Maurice , Robin, and Andy❤️♥️

Very true. Their dad was a performer but when his group disbanded he had to get a job doing ? I forget. He was a great inspiration when they started performing, and mum made all their clothes, washed everything by hand (no washing machine). Their parents support would have meant everything. You're forgetting younger brother Andy who passed away in 1988. Barry's elder sister Lesley still lives in Australia, she had 8 kids!! lol Somehow with all the fame and fortune, Barry never changed. As you said he kept it real. I have so much respect for him. What a sad day when we lose this beautiful man.

Both their parents are/were wonderful people -wish I could have traded places,my family was/is rotten,perhaps the world is in such a mess from rotten parents.

They were from a very poor family. They immigrated to Australia because of their poverty. Their Father was gone for long periods of time after they moved to Australia because he had to go find work. Their mother made all of their performance clothes from scraps of fabric. When they were children growing up in Manchester, they spent their time on the Streets and did petty crimes. After they moved to Australia they made an oath to each other that the criminal activity would stop, and they would make a go at music. The rest is history. They really need to make a movie about this group.Their story is very inspirational.
