Randy nailed it when he said ," These songs are great melodies and don't meed to be changed that much." Each contestant has a great voice and a wide range but changing each song so much was not necessary.

These songs are classics. There's no need to change them so much. It just doesn't work.

Bee Gees’s melodies are engraved in stones, so beautiful, incomparable, if unable to keep up please don’t change it to your comfort. I agree with Randy, the original melodies are great no need to change, they made the hype songs so boring with their unnecessary extra effort.

It is very strange that some judges didn't know the songs they must judge. The contestants really didn't do justice to themselves, songs was unrecognizable. It takes the Bee Gees' talent and ability to harmonize and to sing their songs. Bee Gees you are the BEST!

I agree with Randy, you have to give props to Barry Gibb for so many hot/ amazing songs. In my opinion, only Barry and his brothers can sing these songs. Bee Gees forever 💕💕💕

I mean, it's a little unfair - noone can compare to the Bee Gees. They should have just stuck with the original melodies since that is one of the hallmarks of Bee Gee songs. Also, there are so many hidden gems in the Bee Gee catalog they would have been better off going with lesser known songs (although maybe they had no choice).

They didn’t listen to a GREAT song writer and producer who knows his stuff. And they paid the price……. Guess they forgot Barbra Streisand’s “Guilty” Album. He knows how to advise women.

But honestly, when the three of them sang exactly the same like the BEEGEES sang, it would be damaging for them all The Beegees CANNOT be replaced.. No way.. But they did a marvellous thing under the guidance of Barry.. I really think so.. Chapeaud to all three of them!!! Especcially to Barry, stimulating each one of them to a higher experiance and leven.. 😮❤ Thank you so much sharing this with me..!

If they would have sang the songs with more or closer sound to the Bbe jees it would have been better but let's face it no one could ever top the Bee jees sound. They were and always will be the absolute best but I give those singers credit for trying. They were ok

Melinda changed things too much and it insulted the songs. Blake, was not feeling the songs as they were written and his tempo changes hurt the performances. They were dance songs for crying out loud. Lakeisha should have taken Barry's advice, then she'd have done much better. She's got range but doesn't use it well. Jordan did the first song better than anyone other than the Bee Gees, she should have chosen a different song other than Woman In Love for her second song, it didn't suit her, Barry was right there. She's a very good singer but there were so many other songs that would have worked better for her. I still think she won it for the night because the others did worse. And I don't watch these kinds of shows, I only watched it because I am a fan of Barry Gibb. (I've listened to the Bee Gees my whole life.)

I think she did great. Barry even said she pulled it off. Who better than to say? A great song by the BG’s lives on!

Damn, it only made me realise how good Bee Gees were. No one (well, except Jordan) came close to giving these songs justice. They say covering the artist is the highest form of praise, but Bee Gees are like the Beatles. No cover will ever do.

We tend to want to hear music the way we first hear it; if you heard some of the demos for other artists before hearing their version you probably prefer the BGs version. Thing is some artists that have covered their songs and done a fine job because they interpreted it without trying to rework it and give their own spin to it as well, and yet did not copy the brothers doing so. In this case most of the songs were poorly fitted to a single performer as the BGs wove a lot of the back and forth between the brothers and a single performer is left to fill in that gap. Except for "mend a broken heart", most of the songs don't easily translate to solo performances. If they had chosen some of the other, arguably solo songs, and added their own take to those without going overboard they might have been better across the board; however, in America some of the better songs that work better for a solo singer were dissed and never got any real air time, and thus less recognizable. Now, if they had the option to choose from their solo albums (more for Robin, fewer for Barry, IIRC one for Maurice?) the range for interpreting them would have been wider, but maybe lesser known today songs. None of the bands that have covered their music did so with a few minutes or days thinking about it, they worked on how they wanted to play them; maybe there just wasn't enough time to get the selected songs wrapped around their thinking in such a short period of time for them to work out how it sounded best for them.

None of them can sing any of the Bee Gee songs. They change the songs way too much.

The first round I would say was pretty average but the second round was much better. I would say those judges had very little experience in those songs which should they should've researched before this and some of the comments were not on point for those songs.

It's either they're something lacking or they're doing way too much. Missed opportunity for Melissa because I love her 1st song choice but there is something missing. She should have made it a jazzier version. I liked her How Can You Mend much better. I'm embarassed for Blake, wtf was that. Randy and Simon was right, it's corny and terrible. Jordin's was the only one that is decent. Paula is that kind of parent that it's the reason why we have a flood of non singers in the music industry who think they are good. And Paula, girl please, just because someone can, someone should because that Blake performance is horrible.
