Barry while fast was not the fastest of backs but his agility and balance and vision were second to none.

Lots of great blocking. An underrated line and receivers helped make Barry so amazing.

No one will ever capture the crowd like Barry did. Every time I went to a Lions game-home or away- everyone in the stadium would chant his name. No one will ever be as good either. God I miss watching him run the football.

I hated that argument. Barry was amazing at the goal line, just like he was anywhere on the field. Fontes was so scared Barry would get hurt, he took him out of goal line situations. I hated it, but I also understood why.

How the lions never won anything with Barry Sanders is crazy. That's why he retired so early

@@UnholyWrath3277 Barry made an effort to trade back the signing bonus he received in order to gain his outright release from the Lions. At the time the Redskins we’re trying to trade for him. When the Lions refused, Barry retired. He didn’t demand a trade the way athletes do now but he wanted away from the Lions. Who could blame him? The Lions were a circus and he was tired of losing. As a fan, I was hoping he would go to the Redskins because I wanted to see him in the Super Bowl. The way he left was an unforgivable tragedy because of the way the Lions handled the situation. They had no gratitude for what he gave the organization. The Lions were the ones lacking class, not Barry. But yes he did make an attempt to play for another team. Ownership refused a trade which could have kick started an effort to improve the team. The Redskins had three first round picks that year. Lions ownership failed both Barry and the Lions fans because they lacked basic human decency.

@@davidgledhill9199 sounds like the lions but ya I had never heard that before. I can see why they'd insist on keeping him as he is the lions legend to this day with Calvin Johnson but they definitely wasted his career which is a real shame. Have done the same thing with Calvin and most of staffords career but I'm happy he will have a few years to try and finish strong with the rams

1:55 Johnnie Morton cant imagine why they went 2-14 in 2001 with blocking like that...barry sanders is home free esp in regards to what he does yet that idiot comes in and blatantly committs a clipping penalty which if the refs bothered to call would have negated the TD
@andrewcote85593 жыл бұрын
If the HORSECOLLAR tackle was penalized when Barry played, Emmitt never would’ve caught him and the Lions may gave won more than that playoff game v. Cowboys in 1991.
