UK railfans owe so much to this scrapyard.

I love the English and how they spend good amounts of money to save these amazing machines. In the 50's and 60's here steam engines were scrapped so quickly we did not realize what we were doing until it was too late. The whole entire United States only I think has a little over 200 steam locos in operational order now compared to over 2000 steam locos in the 40's before they were all scrapped. :(

Barry is in South Wales near Cardiff,this was the place that at the end of steam in UK a lot of Loco's were sent to be cut up for scrap , but they were save ,repaired and now run on private lines in UK Lots more sites on You Tube see BARRY or BARRY ISLAND or BARRY SCRAPYARD .. its strange if only some eastern region examples of steam locomotives were sent here, we might have had an A3, or pepicorn A1, or 2

@Paddofilming All went to be cut up, but many I think over 100 were saved and are now working on private lines

Most of the loco's that are in this upload have been saved ,and are now in working order and are at various locations in the UK given rides the the public on private railway lines

hmmm, someone told me every loco was saved from this place. There are apparently still some left.- sad.
