Barry and Gene were making videos before videos were cool, godfather's of modern bowhunting... Kurt Gowdys video and October Whitetails by the Wensels brought monster bucks to every living room. Genes first two books opened up my eyes and shared a wealth of knowledge. I still find nuggets 30yrs later.

Hey Barry great seminar I met you in Maryland Howard County Fairgrounds seems like 100 years ago but all the hunters nowadays not all they like the corn Pile and that’s OK but needless to say they don’t learn too much by sitting on a corn pile all the time I’m different I shoot traditional bow i use my compound bow and my crossbow it all depends on what I want to do that day but my passion is traditional archery I wish that these people would get away from that corn Pile and actually learn how to hunt instead of just waiting for the deer to come to them I would learn a heckuva lot more going out into the woods and actually looking for detail like you’re talking about I made it work for me several times and that’s the way to go . I’m a weekend warrior so it’s a little bit harder for me to get out there and do a lot of scouting I normally take the first couple of weeks during the archery season and scout and 99% of the land I hunt is public land and I usually do pretty well so I want to thank you your brother Jean bye the way I been reading Gene’s book one mans white tail great book )and all the other guys back then in the 70s for helping me be a better hunter I think everyone that’s been out there you can gain knowledge from but like I said before we need to get these kids out there and teach them how to Really hunt and not just to sit on a corn pile

But you can't eat them horns and a good 4 pointer or 6. Usually taste better even doe is as good to eat probably better and more tender than a buck,,, he told me enjoy being out in,the woods. This man has spent sometime observing deer and deer behavior ...an many other tips and hints... best save this to your device... I would recommend to play it again an again... you will pick up more then you can practice... I never shot a mature deer over 22 yards.... ....I myself had to learn by storys told by some of the best hunters and videos.....and alot of trial-and-error .. and I still mess up... Things happen.....act of nature... ....but,. Things do happen when you do get it right... . I bet he still hasn't told you his heart felt confession of his or my hottest hunting tips of all.... ....Pray... Have Faith... in the Lord... Be Thankful of the beautiful morning to be up in a tree stand and watch wildlife unfold before your very eyes...starting in the autumn air... an if you find it it in your will to send one this way.... I say thankful lord for your blessing on me ... Amen...

@@Djsweepaman This dude hunts food plots? If so, I agree. Food plots, feeders, high fences etc ain't really hunting. I'm a poor boy. The great majority of deer I have killed was done so on public land, and yeah, I'm a if it's brown, it's down kinda hunter.

I live and bow hunt in a highly pressured state with bad game laws. When I tell people my life goal is to take a P&Y buck on public land (with a bow of course), their eyes get big and they state how difficult that is. Most big bucks here are taken on private land, next to a corn feeder, with a crossbow.
@Djsweepaman

@@HillTrekkerSarge Not him, no. But private land guys do. The big TV show "gurus " as you call them do. They feed their deer supplements and protein to grow their antlers. It's more farming then hunting, actually not hunting at all.
