I started BMX Racing too late for it to be intuitiv for my brain and my muscles. Therefore I've been really struggeling for 4 years now to understand what I'm doing wrong when my jumps don't feel good, and what I'm doing right when they do feel good. I've been watching tons of videos and never found anything that could help me. Barry, your video is a diamond. It gives me all the keys I need to be consistant, feel safe and have fun on each jumps I clear!! Thank you so much for sharing your enormous experience. You're a great rider and a great coach!

Barry you're an awesome teacher and you have some sweet jump lines! I'd kill to have a setup like yours to progress on. Also, on behalf of everyone in the Bham area, THANK YOU for your hard work out at OMSP and pushing for more progressive trails with actual jumps. If you ever need an extra hand to help shovel some dirt, I'd be more than happy to help out. Bham has so much potential and we need to keep pushing for bigger features! Keep it up bro!

Barry, GREAT DAM VIDEO GOOD SIR!!!! These kinds of videos are what MORE people need to be viewing. NOT these jumping in 5/10/15 Minutes, in a day, etc. You explain it, IMO, as thoroughly and at the same time, concise as possible. You even detail the why's of the failed attempts to do it correctly. It'll suck as people will look at your video, can't understand or do as you're instructing and go find some other video that teaches them to load the suspension and since they can, think that's jumping. This video is 100% on point. DAM GOOD JOB FOR SURE!!

I have been extremely frustrated with jumping a BMX bike after spending the past 15yrs+ in motocross flying over 80 footers. Surprisingly all of the techniques seem different/opposite from a dirt bike and my brain is just transitioning slowly. This instruction really seems helpful to correcting my body position, what I'm doing with my pull, etc. Can't wait to get to work but I imagine its still going to take me a while to change my habits. Thanks for this.

Now when you say full extension, and riding the lip you meaning - actually like that manual until you can spot the landing, and then your pilot it down to the ground ... Next time I get out to the jumps I'm really gonna roll the full lips being sure that rear axle is spinning the whole transition. @15:45 looks great - full extension with time for style through the air - I like your mentioning about how the forward momentum will help you to clear the landing! I was having problems fully clearing the last jump of an intermediate tabletop line - and altitude may be the factor. So I'll start working on boosting everything. Thanks for the video!

I am terrible…and scared. Dropping over a kerb is my limit atm. I came to a 30 deg short and grassy downhill slope (4-5 ft drop)…had to go around…why? Cos I feared the forks diving at the bottom, the wheel digging in and sending me over the bars. It probably wouldn’t, but it looked like a cliff edge to me😳. Maybe I should practice with a cheap bike, then I’d not worry about bending my 2K baby huh!
