Yes those are her girls. I cannot hear this song without getting emotional. It came out when my son was a teenager and reminded me of all of my hopes for him and his future. Now he’s 38 and just became a father to a beautiful baby boy last January (2022) and he finally understands why his mom is so “mushy” sometimes. He told me that when his son was born he suddenly felt like the Grinch who had just grown a heart ❤️

My now 15yo daughter (was 10) when she did a excel gold floor routine to this song. The coach asked the kids what song they wanted to use and she said i hope you dance. I helped her with song arrangement to fit the most into her routine. The next year when she moved up to an 8 all the younger gold level gymnasts used it. The best part was when it came to choreography she was asked to help teach the younger ones new routines to the music proud daddy moment and she found her love of teaching and now teaches at the gym. She actually teaches her 3 year old sister along with the other young children just starting

Personally, I'm not generally a country fan. However, there are some songs and even artist I like. And one I'd recommend is Gretchen Wilson. The three songs I'd recommend are: Redneck Woman, Here for the Party, and All Jacked Up. I remember when this came out. Great song. I liked your reaction (as usual).

You made a great point early in the video that I make all the time when talking about the differences in music of today vs yesteryears. Music reflects the times. Some time in the 90's, music started reflecting negative emotions moreso than any time in history. More angst. More depression. More pent up rage. It's noteworthy when discussing the generational world views as we've moved from earlier generations to the millennials, gen x and gen z.

This song's lyrics are kind of a Southern tradition (at least in southeast TX, but I assume also in other places where country music is dominant)...for parents (mothers especially) to gift their daughters with something in their teens that have these lyrics incorporated.

Have you listened to any Randy Travis? He has a lot of songs similar to what you're talking about here. I recommend "Forever and Ever, Amen" which is a love song and "Three Wooden Crosses" which is about the legacies we leave in life. "On the Other Hand" is about temptation and commitment.

Great voice and great message. Another one of a different shade from Lee Ann is "I'll think of a reason later". Very realistic and normal take on rejection expressed with a very pretty voice. Another artist I think you would like is Allison Krauss with Union Station covering "When you say nothing at all". They have put out an official video that does it justice. Good reaction. Thanks.
