It’s been 50 years since I had the privilege of seeing “The King” live in concert…in those years I’ve been fortunate enough to see everyone from the Stones to Garth Brooks to George Strait…all icons in themselves. No one even came close to the magic created by this man on stage!!!

Check out "If I Can Dream" from his '68 Comeback Special. He literally gave that performance all he had... To the point he barely made it backstage afterward, before he literally collapsed on the floor, in the fetal position, and cried and cried and cried... With Elvis, always go for the live performance whenever possible. It allows you to get as close to the "Full Elvis Experience" as we can get since he passed away in 1977. There really is no comparison.

You would really appreciate the live on stage performance of this. Elvis was the ultimate showman and the ladies went wild. In his later years he always had a full orchestra and choir and of course his attire is iconic. The day he died was a day i dont like remembering growing up. I was 8-9yrs my sister was 12. They just bawled and bawled. I dont know how long, but easily weeks worth of crying as the talking of it all over the news and the eventual funeral. Just made the world stop for awhile

As far as I know Elvis never had a performance that was not sold out! The Hawaii concert was the first satellite show that was shown world wide at the same time! It was watched by billions that night!!! I remember staying up and watching it. It was 1972 or 73. He NEVER performed outside of the US. Not his choice but his only manager, Col. Tom Parker.

Pardon my late comment, but this is a very significant song in the Elvis canon. Back in the 1950s, everything was innocent, sock-hop, first-love, or maybe some heartbreak sort of thing. Even when The Beatles came along, everything was innocent, lovey-dovey experiences ("Love Me Do", "I Want To Hold Your Hand"). The Beatles and their cohort soon elevated what a love song might mean...or not mean...etc ("For No One" amongst many others.) Elvis Presley's "Suspicious Minds" is an important song in the Elvis catalog for being that rare mature, "adult" view of love and what happens to it. There were no songs about how jealousy might ruin a relationship back in Elvis's first years. In this song, he shows a future he never lived to sing more about. (And, sad to say, it must be admitted his wife and their situation made the song all the more relevant.)
