This must be a complete mindfuck to anyone with no context

Danganronpa is a visual novel of sorts where about 16 talented students are forced to kill each other. Once someone is killed the rest of the students need to figure out who did it. If the killer is found out in a trial of they will be executed and if not the rest of the students will be executed and the killer goes free.

A little context: - The reason why the 2nd person kept climbing was because she was tricked into believing that it was possible to escape her execution, but at the end of it all, she was only climbing to her death. - The 2nd last person died smiling because the bear, Monokuma, hadn't intended for him to die that way. He was supposed to have suffocated in the spaceship, but he died of a disease he had just in time. - the reason why some of the 3rd execution was of him dying as a ghost is because he is an anthropologist, so he died a second time since salt exorcizes ghosts. - To make the executions more brutal, 3 of them had committed murder/died because they were trying to save everyone. - As you probably already know from the other comments, the people who were executed are killers, with the exception of the first girl- she was framed by the last person.

Explaining the executions -Kaeda Akamatsu (Ultimate pianist) is the person executed in der flohwalzer translation: i stepped on a cat(?)anyway by seeing it its obvious whats happening while the monokubs (the bears pulling a rope) the rope is tied around kaeda neck and people suggested that kaeda execution went on for 8 hours straight hinting the clock behind the piano -Kirumi Tojo (ultimate maid) is executed in Strand of agony what shows in the execution is Kirumi running away from haters and she discovers a vine leading up since Kirumi had no choice she climbed it (piercing her hands) while climbing saws where on the top but she continued to climb (probably will make sense if you watch what happaned before the execution begin) once she was falling she didnt die from fall damage during the fall she already died from blood loss -Korekiyo Shinguji (Ultimate Anthropologist) executed in cultural melting pot his execution (yes its a boy”im gonna finish later”) -Kaito Momota (Ultimate Astronaut) execution Blast off! Second ignition which Kaito was send to space and presumibly if the execution did not fail it could have crashed while landing the reason why kaito smiled once he reached space is that his dream was to reach space the execution failed because of his diseace also in danganronpa: Trigger happy havoc this execution is used for Jin Kirigiri (that is also the reason for Second Ignition)

Whoever suggested this has NO IDEA what they're doing. Love Danganronpa though!

The worst part is that the girl that is executed With a piano is that she Didn't even kill anybody like the rest, she was framed by the mastermind

Okay, I wasn't expecting your introduction to the Danganronpa series being an immediate deep dive into the spoiler territory of Danganronpa V3. Then again, since Danganronpa is a series of murder mystery visual novels, I honestly can't think of any other reaction channel friendly way of introducing the series to people.

"I hope the player hates these people" no not really, aside from the characters execute 2nd and 3rd all the characters killed in this game (some died outside of execution) are well beloved, these executions aren't to make you feel vindicated or rewarded for winning in court, since (aside from those two) none of them really had a choice but to commit their crimes, they're here to show you how cruel and meticulous the main villain is, they premtevely put together all these extravagant executions way before they knew who was gonna murder who.

Some context ahead for each of the executions. Warning, this post is really long. I also will be spoiling pretty much everything, including parts of Chapter 6. For those who haven’t finished V3, *SPOILERS AHEAD* Okay, so the main premise for the game is that a bunch of teenagers attend this school for those who are the best in their craft, dubbed Ultimates in the English version. However, one class gets kidnapped every game and trapped in a location like a school or an island and are forced to kill to escape. If you’re caught, you are executed, if not, the rest of the class is executed and you are freed. Motives are given throughout the game as well, providing many different reasons for students to kill. The first execution seen here is for Kaede Akamatsu, the Ultimate Pianist. She is actually the protagonist of this game’s first chapter, a fake out protag if you will. This chapter’s motive is a time limit, where if I murder doesn’t occur within the time allotted, all the students will be killed. She attempts to circumvent this, trying to kill the mastermind by making a trap, but another student is caught in the crossfire and dies instead. At the end of the trial, Kaede admits her crime and is executed, and we get a new protagonist. The second execution is for Kirumi Tojo, the Ultimate Maid. The motive for this chapter is videos of the character’s loved ones. However, this is rendered ineffective when the videos are switched up and few students get theirs. Kirumi is one of the lucky, or unlucky, who did. This video tells her that when serving a client, the prime minister of Japan, she was given duties involving the safety of all of Japan’s citizens. The video ends by vaguely threatening those citizens, and Kirumi makes the decision that she has to get outside to protect them, that the keeping the other students alive is less important than a whole country. Another student was given a video that told him he had no loved ones waiting for him outside, depressing him greatly. When he hears of Kirumi’s predicament, he offers up his life. She kills him, and is later found out at the trial. She determines she has too much to live for, too many people who depended on her, that she had to escape no matter what, running away from her execution. This is why she is so determined in the video, her pain is minuscule in her eyes compared to everyone else. And yet, her determination is what kills her. Third to be executed is Korekiyo Shinguji, the Ultimate Anthropologist. The motive for the chapter is a Necronomicon, but it has very little to do with the murders this time so I’ll skip it. This, just like every 3rd chapter in Danganronpa, is a double murder. One is murdered at night and the other is murdered the following night during the investigation for the first. Korekiyo’s motive was… incest. Unfortunately. He had a romantic relationship with his older sister, but she was deathly ill, and after she died, he began murdering young women to be friends with her up in heaven. F-ed up, I know. But either way, he is found out and executed. The other spirit you see in his execution is supposed to be his sister, actually, rejecting him. The forth execution is for Gonta Gokuhara, the Ultimate Entomologist. He studies bugs. The motive for this chapter also doesn’t play a huge role, so I won’t go over it either. In this chapter, a girl named Miu makes plans to kill a student named Kokichi in her Virtual Reality Simulation. She freezes him using code so he can’t move. To avoid dying, Kokichi convinces Gonta to kill Miu instead. This chapter is really sad, as Honta is basically manipulating into doing this murder (not the sharpest tool in the shed), and his memory from the game world is messed up so he doesn’t even remember doing it. This is why he is executed with a computer with his avatar on it, as the avatar does remember. He is revealed and executed. The fifth execution is for Kaito Momota, the Ultimate Astronaut. This chapter gets really complicated, I’ll have to skip some stuff. Firstly, Kaito has been deathly sick this whole game. As for the murder, Kokichi from earlier kidnaps Kaito and asks him to help him end the killing game. Both end up poisoned at one point and Kokichi bribes Kaito with the antidote to go along with his plan. Kaito kills Kokichi for the plan and then hops inside a machine to conceal his identity. They try to trick the mastermind into being unable to figure out who the culprit is, but are found out. Kaito is executed, but before the execution can finish, Kaito’s illness catches up to him and kills him, causing the execution to fail. Lastly, our final person to be executed is Tsumugi Shirogane. She is this game’s mastermind. Fun fact, remember Kaede? The first person on this list? Yeah, the murder she committed wasn’t actually committed by her. Shirogane did that and used Kaede to cover it up so the game could continue. She is killed by the rubble as her classmate, K1-B0, the Ultimate Robot, destroys the school in order to erase the mistakes made there. He destroys the barrier at the end by self destructing so the surviving students can escape once and for all. If you read all this, thanks! This took a lot of time.

It's a series of games where a crazy person kidnaps a bunch of Japans best_____. Each person is the best and brightest! So lock them in a place, tell them they can't leave unless they get away with a murder, and broadcast it all to the world!

whats sad about danganronpa is the fact you grow to love these characters to see them die

About the bears: the black and white one with the red eye is the headmaster of the school these kids attend, while the multicolored bears are just kinda there (honestly dont know why they are here as they don't have any relevance to the story at all lol)

Not so fun fact: The head rolling on the floor for the first execution was actually supposed to be the girls head but they thought it would be too brutal so its the bears head

The ha,e is about people getting trapped and trying to find the kill if they guess correctly the killer dies in the most painful way

The main point of the executions is to be despairing for the one whos being executed rather than just killing them. 1. Kaede the pianist was humilliated in front of the people she wanted to save. 2. Kirumi wanted to scape but got tricked into thinking she could when there was no chance she could do it at all 3. Korekiyo died in a painful way, and at the end he reunited with his late sister that ended up executing his soul (on Japan, salt is commonly used to kill bad spirits) 4. Kaito was meant to be executed but he had a terminal illness. He also was never on space and was his lifetime dream. He died from the decease and ended up in the space, so he was in peace. The execution did neither kill him nor despaired him, so it was considered a failure. 5. At the end, the mastermind is watching his work falling apart because she was discovered. The Danganropa plot explains that despair is something worse than death so yeah. Killing them is just an extra to the real purpose for the executions.
