For the medical lootables, i saw it mentioned that you can open the container, leave the loot, then hit it for the chance to harvest acid. That way, the loot drops into a little backpack you can search and pick up afterwards. I tested and confirmed it does work. Not sure if thats the way its intended or not, so it could be patched out later.

Trader Bob's outpost walls actually lets you build a platform on the edge on one side, it's not extremely good but is funny if you dig out the floor under that side and make a floating base.

Tem! The fuel saver mod is SOOO worth it trust me its night and day. Not the reserve tank, the fuel saver. Also only that one and the super charger are "worth" it but the off-road headlights one is honestly pretty crazy its like daylight theyre so bright and huge

I started up a new game, shrank the forest a bit so I could move on to other biomes easier. My starting town was freaking wastelands. I went, "Ok, this shouldnt be too bad, im a tough guy, experienced player and all." Hint, it was too bad, im not that tough. Between the parade of zombie bears loitering outside of every area I ever wanted to look at, the mines planted everywhere that itsnt paved, and the birds that are just WAITING for you to take 1 hp of damage so they can swarm you, i did not do well trying to live here. Remade the map without messing with the sliders for biomes. Im happy in my forest for now.

Hiho Tem, when it comes to the medicine cabinets and harvesting acid, you can check what's inside and take all but 1 and then harvest the box, the items that were inside will drop in a backpack and you still have the chance to harvest the acid, also works with acid barrels, since gas is gonna be a shortcoming for some time to come until you get the chem station, i love the new series so far and would love to see you do another colab with @IzPrebuilt.

Don't forget, you can pick the cop car locks open without setting off the alarm. I've looted at least 5 that way and never set it off. I always make sure to keep a stash of lockpicks for just such an occasion.

I have completed the food magazine collection in my playthrough and I haven't found one food magazine since I topped out. I usually find food in the place of the magazine (potatoes and corn usually). I don't know if anyone else is noticing this too but I thought it might be worth a mention. Thanks for the quality content.

The other thing you have to keep in mind with magazines, Is that there's multiple settings for play styles.. One that you can do is when you die everything. Your inventory is destroyed and you respond with nothing. There's no bag so you have to Recraft for farm all your Equipment and gear again. Me and my wife play a little bit more casually. But we still like to keep it a little bit of a challenge. We don't end our play through when we die. We just have to reform all of our gear again and having those Magazines allows us to make that gear.

I haven't had a issue getting good magazines out of residential mailboxes. It might give 3-4 different types in 1 mailbox like it was but it's still like 90% a magazine instead of just paper like it used to be

Since people tend to forget about, acid is obtainable aswell from harvesting metal barrels. GNS most probably is aware of that though 😊

Suggestion for what to do with 100/100 skill mags - crafting could give a small % chance on the relevant skills to craft a t6 when you make a t5. Would give a use to all the weapon parts you will continue to find especially if you have points in the relevant skills and a late game alternative to t6 that isn't trader rewards or rngesus with loot boxes.

Maybe they should give you points to increase your loot chance for certain magazines that you can change anytime, that aren't tied to your skill points. That way you can find which magazines you need.

I fell in love with the lanterns... i use them like light bulbs by rotating them upside down lol. I'd rather have that light permanently there and then have gens hooked up to the actual important stuff. Just saves on the spaghetti wiring forming in my base lol.

If you put something back into the medicine cabinet before you finish looting I.E glass or wood etc. then close. It doesn’t break then you can harvest for acid and keep the good loot. Keep up the great videos.

I would like to suggest a block for you to play around with. Scaffold ladder…. Please folks upvote this so he sees. This block is great for a ton of things like grenade chutes also in place of hatches and such

I know this is a bit late but about person who asked about the magazines becoming worthless after you have quality 5+ gear, if you play with delete on death that would make maxing out magazines worth it if you were someone who dies often and still wants to play on a challenging difficulty. Even if you don't die and you play in a group where death is common maxing out magazines could be beneficial for your team. P.S. love this series

You should use the scaffolding ladder to block your opening of your fighting position from top to bottom. You can grab things through it, you can use any of your clubs,spears,sledge hammers and even through Hernandez through it

I've been enjoying lots of different mods with Blood Moon off, and it's been nice actually. I'm glad they have that as an option sometimes.

Also medicine cabinets- loot everything but 1 junk item like bloodbag THEN smash it for acid.

I’m unsure how it works exactly, but on the server I play on with my friends I rarely see magazines I’ve finished completely. I do agree finishing the set should give a neat bonus though!

Do you remember when items had 100max quality and we have to craft tons of them to level up their quality, and they replaced it with current system, that's how I feel about magazines. They are a placeholder for a better system I think.

Finding the whole set of a magazine will lower its drop rate to its base value, so you'll still find them, but a lot less frequently. It'd be nice to sell them for a special currency that lets you buy other kinds of magazine or other special loot.

Add permanent durability loss to weapons, tools and armor, so we have a reason to replace our tools. (1% per repair if repaired at workbench. 5% if repaired with a repair kit, to encourage people to prepare better for their trips) Add a new item that when used allows you to craft a tier 6 item. (so we got a reliable although should be super rare way to replace our tier 6's, though make it have a degradation timer(The crafting item, not item you made) so we are encouraged to spend them quickly, giving us less opportunity to min max it for the long term) Suddenly crafting remains useful throughout the game, we have something super rare in the loot pool that encourages us to still go out and look for stuff even when we have everything we normally need and with a degradation timer it will as I said force us to use them quickly and that leaves less room for just storing up a ton of this one item.

In regards to the cabinets, can you just take all the medicine out of the loot container, and put one item in, so that the loot container doesn't update to empty, then smack the loot container for the acid? That way you don't have to give up the first aid, but still can get a chance at acid? Like.. if you put any item in it before closing out the window after taking it it doesn't update the loot container.

You know the fun pimps already kind of thought of the whole maxing out a book series. Just take a forgettin elixir and redistribute your skill points. You maxed out sledgehammers now you can take a forgetting elixir and put it in some else that you're not maxed out like pistols or shotguns or whatever so I mean they kind of already thought of a fix to the magazine problem. I totally agree you should get some kind of bonus for maxing out a series

when I saw that part with the pickaxe not being able to one-shot stone I thought of an interesting idea, what if stamina usage of power attack was scaling depending on how close you are to one-shotting it with normal attack? maybe not the best idea but I think it's interesting lol

Watching these videos is making me want to play, but I'm still trying to 100% my first character on D4. I thought the extra weight toward magazines you have spent points in stops after you max the skill. Should have put a solid ceiling up in your workroom (and the hallway into your kill room) to discourage digging.

I think the traders should highlight items with a slightly different background colour or something that are new since you last checked them.

Going off what should happen to magazines once you have top tier weapons/tools, I think tools/weapons should have individual stats, so like you can craft/find a tier 6 auto rifle but you get a random role to different stats out of 100 (i.e. accuracy -23 damage - 30 reload - 15, etc.) so you have more reason to want to craft/find more of said weapon/tool as you can find/make a better version, like you may want more fire rate into a certain gun, or more damage on another thing. Idk just an idea and it’s not a flawless one.

Btw...when you finish a full collection of magazines...they are NOT removed from the loot list. You keep getting them but they now show the 'open book' and are only worth a lousy 25 dukes each. So....just worth XP for the most part. It SHOULD remove them from the loot list, but it doesn't.

On the topic of continuing to get magazines when you have a tier 6 steel whatever (so you don't have to make one), hot take, what if you couldn't repair weapons? It would encourage you to get to the point you could craft max level gear so you could have one consistently and wouldn't have to downgrade when the one you looted breaks.

GNS, i built a wall safe in qa coop game with friends and you can actually put it in the wall, i used it to store dukes and cash from atm as my sort of trader box.

IMO, the fuel saver mod is a much more useful mod than the supercharger. The speed boost is nice, but not having to stop and take apart every car you pass to feed your gas-guzzling, pre-chem station vehicles, is nicer. Also, are we just not going to talk about you comparing a steel axe stats to your pickaxe stats...TWICE, lol. It would have been hilarious if you had actually crafted the axe before you realized the mistake.

As for magazines/points/research, I'd be happy with the current system from Undead Legacy plus the UL Anti-Bullshit mod. But I know the next UL has some new stuff in store for us, so I'm kinda interested in seeing how that will turn out.

As I understand it, once you complete a magazine series, those mags won't be in the mix anymore, so you will continue getting ones you still need. since they are crafting oriented, making a series could allow you to build item in the tree with a 5% bonus. Weapons 5% more damage/lest stamina. Workstations 5% less time/mats, etc. Maybe label them Masterwork items. So you *could* craft a masterwork lvl3 stone spear... but why would you? But a Masterwork lvl5 Steel Spear or M60 could be handy. Legendary would still be best. The change I would really like to see - VITAMINS!! Specifically if you take vitamins while infected, the infection doesn't progress for the duration of the vitamin. It won't cure the infection, just slow down its progression. This gives more utility to vitamins and another way to deal with infections.

I was under the impression that once you max out a magazine series it is removed from the loot table. IzPrebuilt seems to be trying to max out the ones they don't want just to stop getting them. It's a somewhat simple, but effective solution...

I believe, whether it is wrong or not, that the devs don't activate certain functions because it is much more efficient to allow a modder to activate that feature for free. I'm quite sure Bugthesda did that in a few of their games. It is an easy fix and frees up their team to work on other issues.

I think to solve the issue with the magazines they could just add a feature where u toggle whether or not u want a certain magazine from loot or something like that to stop drops of certain magazines all together

With the Magazines I do just like a bit of Roleplaying. If I find a Weapon or Tool above my tier, I´m allowed to use it until it breaks. Then, I´m not allowed to repair it because I don´t know the technique behind it. So I have to sell it broken, scrap it or keep it until I know how to do it. 😁 And, man, it´s harder than it sounds 🤣. And normally I´m a nice guy, so you don´t need to worry about much if PapaZ is showing up, no problem, little shake hands and we eat together (maybe your brains, but you are a part of it anyway) 😅😂

I believe TFP said once you finish a magazine series like sledgehammer the game is supposed to remove the entire series from the loot tables

I found a level 6 pipe machine gun and it does 9 more base damage than a level 3 AK I found. Its a little crazy how a lower tier weapon could be that much stronger even with stat randomness and levels.
