Basale pundi/ rice balls with malabar spinach curry is a tasty and healthy traditional dish. The main ingredients- required are malabar spinach, raw rice and grated coconut. And some spices also required. Unlike ordinary pundi, we grind the batter fine and pundis will be small in size. Adding stem pieces is optional, however we add rice balls. This is nothing but a combination of rice balls and spinach sambar.
Ingredients- malabar spinach, rice 2 cups, grated coconut 1 small, dhania seeds- 2 tsp., mustard 1 tsp. Methi seeds 1/4th tsp, jeera 1 tsp., red chillies 8-9, coconut oil, curry leaves, salt, tamarind, jaggery and turmeric powder
