The abandoned skyscraper covered in graffiti in downtown Los Angeles is still causing nearby residents and law enforcement officials major headaches. Sara Welch reports for KTLA 5 News at 5, Feb. 13, 2024.

Like I said they are wusses I used to clear the neighboring buildings by myself for a company called green night. The most we had were 3 man teams. The only way to keep the addicts out is with severity. Many aren't there for graffiti or bases jumping. Most go for the copper wire. Many underage people get drugged by dealers there at night is what they aren't telling you.

100 percent true. One dude stole a ladder from neighboring construction workers. Broke in to a building. A company I worked for got him. The police showed up and even though they knew he broke in they let him go after coming at a co worker with a knife. My coworker had a gun butt the police were already close. They got the dude though it was 3 people trying to jump my coworker. The only criminal who stayed back stayed because he wanted his ladder back that he stole. Police let him go. This was at 906 Francisco start by LA live.

the biggest issue isn’t the tagging or base jumping it’s the ability to be bale to just walk away from a massive property and let the city and tax payers deal with it. “this is prime real estate” no its an abandoned building, at this point city should take it over and retrofit it into tiny spaces for homeless people. they could knock the number down by thousands in one fell swoop.

Base jumping is one of the stupidest things. Parachute have back-up chutes for a reason, but if your chute doesn't open up on the first time from base jumping, you dont have enough time to get a second chance.

imagine if a gust of wind blew your parachute into the window and your parachute gets wrapped and tangled / twisted and you end up free falling. That's actually quite common if you're base jumping from structures. It's safer to do with in the open without any structures. I hope they keep filming this, it won't end well if they keep this up.

LAPD officers make on average upwards of 150k a year and they can't even secure a couple of buildings. The LAPD is doing such a horrible job that now we have base jumpers. Instead of spending all that money on LAPD overtime they could just put a few security guards they could have that whole place secured.
