It works well. I spray the weeds every month or so during the growing season and it doesn’t take long. When there are a lot of weeds it takes longer and sometimes two rounds of spraying. If the infield is being floated regularly that keeps weeds down as well.

Turfco mete r matic top dresser. Hardly ever use it, but worth its weight in gold when spreading material on a sports field. Can spread sand, topsoil, infield mix, bulk turface and crumb rubber.

We did the field in a 30 day period between other tasks and some stretches of bad weather. Combined man hours altogether was 40-45 hours. The best part is that a year later, the field still plays well and is much easier to maintain. Thanks for commenting and watching!!

The most expensive part was the red clay infield mix. 40 tons of Washington Ball Mix was roughly $5K. The mound clay, mound, round up and fertilizer was under $1K.

Restoring a field not used since pre-covid

@@CREENBIRDVideos No they have not, but the grass is in rough shape, lots of issues in the outfield with gopher holes etc. We spending a lout of time trying to get it back to play worthy!

@@gturcott1 the top dresser we used in the video does a great job of spreading screened topsoil when overseeding . Keeping turf fertilized, watered and cut with sharp blades 3 times a week during growing season is key. Best of wishes with your field! It’s a rewarding job for sure!

The field is still looking good 2 years later. We have had a significant amount of rain this spring and keeping the field playable has been a challenge. We will be doing a tune up after our summer/fall season and will hopefully have some in the budget to add more Washington Ball Mix to our infield.

The product is Washington Ball mix. Comes out of Canada. We buy from Pheonix stone in Mt. Clemens, MI. It’s not cheap. I think between 80-90 dollars per ton depends on trucking. Thanks for commenting on my video!
