And yet they'll blame it entirely on the pitch clock and not on the fact that humans cannot handle throwing things that hard that fast for so long. But hey, at least surgeons will have plenty of incentive to study elbow tendons and how to fix them better for the next 20 years or so.

All the pro leagues are doing this. Guarantee its not just the team owners. All the owners want a team in vegas. Another thing this video left out is the plane ride was speculated from a REDDIT POST and that most private jets' serial numbers end with the owner's initials (RH). Another thing is that the fan who caught the ball at first was VERY content with the things she received but after seeing twitter comments how she could've potentially received money, she backtracked. There's a lot of bias in this video and not even direct research of facts. I love this channel, but hate when they do this shit.

I don't think the pitch clock is breaking pitchers arms. I think throwing 96+ mph is. The pitch clock has only been around for a season and arm blowouts have been going up for a while. Not every pitcher needs to be a velocity pitcher, especially before they are 25...

It's why I've advocated more pitchers trying to pick up and learn the knuckleball; it's lighter on a pitcher's arm which means fewer arm blowouts _and_ longer outings, and it's slower which means _on average_ exit velocity will be lessened. Basically the only people who don't win in this are batters who need to adjust to its chaos and the catchers who have to catch it, but honestly? To both of those groups I say: skill issue, get good.
@FowlPlayPresents
@FowlPlayPresents Ай бұрын
Games used to be like 2 hours on average and they'd pitch all game and rack up 300 innings a year. Now I'm sure that's unhealthy as well but the increase in ungodly movement on breaking pitches and the velocity being higher puts a lot of pressure on arms especially when pitchers are being taught mechanics to maximize those things rather than doing what works right for their bodies. But it's like what can you do to fix this, those things matter in being called up and getting valued by the league.

The injury trend chart basically shows that it has nothing to do with the pitch clock since the biggest peak in the minor league was the year before the pitch clock. Also for MLB there basically is no difference 2012 had 42 which is similar to 2023. Its obviously velocity.

I was talking with a former MLB pitching coach and he claims that the reason injuries have gone up is because the league has cracked down on illegal substances. In an effort to spin the ball like they used to (illegally) they contort and whip their arms more, causing more injuries. When I asked, he said that 3 years ago over 3/4 of his pitching rotation (which I won't name) was abusing sticky substances and that was, according to him, about average compared to other MLB teams

Velocity as an issue with pitchers is plausible. Another factor is how spin rate has become a factor. More RPMs on pitches can be just as damaging as velocity. Max RPMs is also a part of throwing hard. Max RPMs on a slider is going to put much more strain per pitch on an arm. Keep going max Velo and Max RPMs is asking to injure a pitcher's arm.

So, I get my MLB fix listening to the radio and staying up to date with YT posts like this one. MLB is missing the boat on keeping fans happy and connected to the league. Social media is the future but it is like MLB wants to keep a lid on people profiting from their "public" enterprise social media. I mean, the velocity thing is 100% accurate, pitchers are throwing faster than ever. Pitchers are being encouraged to injure themselves and that’s pretty obvious. I think increasing the pitch clock to 35 or 40 seconds would probably be good as well. But it is primarily a pitcher issue I’d think over the clock itself. Players need to remember that they are human.

As a new baseball fan, tbh I like the pitch clock rule. Why? It gives more action and not having to engage/disengage every time by the pitchers. So more action and less standing around (based on my brief search on past games). However I do feel like the current time we have is too fast. A bit leniency on time should help it by a bit, also too many rules with how the pitcher should face bla bla…. Most if the umpires do whatever they like anyway so its not gonna be relevant most of the time. Let them do their thing so batter and base runners need to be more agile and active and anticipate those movements. Ofc my opinion will be hated, harassed by some ‘hardcore, I’ve watched baseball even before I was born’ type of fan. But that’s just my perspective from a new baseball fan, feel free to disagree. Maybe share some of your perspective rather than straight pumping your hatred to me.

I see the pitch clock similar to the shot clock in the NBA. As it forced the sport to change the style of play that produce more action for the fans. I see some pitchers are adapting to the rule changes relatively easily. Glasnow on the Dodgers is having a hell of a season and is showing no sign of struggling.

I kinda think the pitch clock is dumb, but it probably has made some aspects of the games better... I think there's a happy medium to be found

If we had players and managers that are collaborative to the game we wouldn't need it. Look at Trout and Ohtani at the WBC. Thing is, every at bat a pitcher asked for a timeout, a batter stepped out of the box, two, three times. With a guy on base, multiple pickoff attempts (Rogers Clemens in the 2001 world series game 7 tried to pickoff a player on base like 4-5 times per batter). This was becoming a joke

The pitch clock has nothing to do with arm problems, the pitchers ruintines and throwing progression is what's causing it. Trevor Bauer has never had arm problems and he never takes weeks off and throws a shit ton of pitches at a fast pace.

The pitch clock absolutely plays a part in the rise in injuries. Pitching is a very explosive movement, just like any pylometric move done in a gym. Reducing rest time hinders your bodies ability to recover, so why are people shocked by this in baseball?

This is why I've always hated the pitch clock. The key of patience was what made MLB so special and stand out compared to other professional sports leagues...

It’s absolutely velocity. If you look at bullpen sessions, the only thing you hear from the coaches is something along the lines of, “that was 89, let’s see 90.” Then as soon as they get 90, “there you go, now take it another gear up, give me 91.” Always telling them to throw harder and harder. 2 out of every 3 corrections are something to do with either the velocity or spin numbers being too low. The human elbow is not designed to handle these types of forces, it’s that simple. It’s why there aren’t hardly any Olympic gymnasts over the age of 25, because by 25 gymnastics will have destroyed your body to the point where you can’t compete at that level anymore. Figure skating too. The world champs are like 14 for “men’s” figure skating. Or a 13 year old “women’s” figure skating champion. The sad truth is that it’s likely physically impossible for a person to maintain average velocities in excess of 100mph for an extended period of time without injury.

So basically here is how to make a grilled cheese Start off by getting your two slices of bread, lots of kinds of bread can be used such as sourdough which is pretty popular although I personally prefer using white bread. Next you need to get your cheese, lots of cheeses exist that are really good for grilled cheese but I realize that most people don't have many types of cheeses at home just laying there so if all you have are slices of American cheese I would recommend just using two slices per grilled cheese because that's just my personal preference for cheese to bread ratio Now for the cooking, I know some people use panini presses which work very well but most people don't have a panini press so you can just get an oven top and a stove and set heat at 3 and put butter on the pan and spread it around then when it's melted slap on the grilled cheese and keep it there until it is golden brown which is when you take it off and put another piece of butter on there and put the grilled cheese back on when it melts once that side has turned golden brown as well you must take it off and I personally recommend cutting it diagonally to make triangle and once you do that you can enjoy your delicious grilled cheese

It’s obviously the obsession with velocity in the sport. The players don’t want to admit that, because that obviously hurts them in contract negotiations. The pitch clock has made the game 10x more watchable.
