I have an Eid gift for the dawahwise team. In a court case regarding marriage rituals of Hindus the indian court went into the vedic verses recited during Kanyadan. The vedic verse says that the father is giving his 8 year old daughter as a gift to the groom. Thus he says it is clear that the marriageable age of a girl is 8 years. Search in google the article headline "How courts established that only saptapadi, not kanyadaan, is essential for Hindu marriage" This leads to the "theprint" Website ie its theprintdotin

@@70newlifeThank you! Justice Bapat referred to one of the “vedic” verses recited during the marriage ceremony in which a priest, on behalf of the bride’s father, offers “his eight-year-old” daughter to the groom’s father as a gift so that she is looked after with love and affection. Pointing to this verse, the judge had said: “From the above mantra we can definitely infer knowledge that in the good old days the marriageable age of the daughter was taken to be eight.” Do you or anyone else have a reference for this Vedic verse?

_"you have to leave logic and common sense just to deny Islam"_ No. Most of the time, all it takes is not being taught to believe this stuff as a child, before you'd even developed the _capability_ of thinking critically, _or_ caring more about the truth than about fitting in with the rest of your tribe. After all, do you have one piece of good evidence that your god is real, rather than just imaginary? Just *one,* but specific enough and in enough detail that I can judge it for myself? I won't ask you for evidence for something you don't believe. Have you become an atheist, then? If you don't believe in a god, I won't ask you for evidence that your god is real. _"I often find people who disregard Islam without a open minded critique"_ I _always_ find that people who ignore my request for evidence of the god they claim to believe - like you did - do so because they don't _have_ anything distinguishable from wishful-thinking backing up their religious beliefs. But hey, I'm not willing to assume anything about someone I haven't talked to, previously. So I still ask. _"Islam is not a tribe."_ I meant "tribe" in a more casual sense. It's cultural. @@Bill_Garthright I think you misunderstood my reply, or the spirit of it at least. My point is that we feel the effects of certain things everyday. Things that we can not touch, nor measure via CURRENT scientific methods. That does not mean they don't exist, nor does it mean that people deny their existence. You are looking for tangible proof of a creator? I would say YOU are part of that proof. You didn't come into being from nothing, nor did this universe/ reality. The complex nature of existence itself is proof of a creator. Amino acids didn't coalesce by themselves, nor did proteins form by themselves. Even the most 'basic' single celled organisms could not have spontaneously come into existence. I'd truly recommend at least looking into scientific explanations of existence (or anything for that matter) before using it to dismiss something else. Once you realise there is a creator, then you should look into comparative religion. If you go into that sincerely, with an open mind and a logical critique, you'll find Islam is the way. Thanks for your clarification in regards to your use of the word tribe, I thought you were using it in an ethno-religious sense. Even so, personally I wouldn't use it, because I believe the term tribe to be (by its nature) an exclusionary term. Islam is nothing of not inclusive (this is literally a dawah channel, ie calling people to Islam).

We live in simulation according to some scientists 😵😵 "If they are true" you shouldn't believe them 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Bill_Garthright
@Bill_Garthright 2 ай бұрын
You shouldn't believe them _anyway._ You shouldn't pick "some scientists" to believe, since that's just picking what you want to be true _first,_ then finding a scientist who'll agree with you. That's more like religion than science. No, if you care about the truth, you should only accept the worldwide scientific consensus. When there's a worldwide consensus in science, you know there's abundant evidence backing up that conclusion. It's not just "some" scientists making a claim, but enough good evidence to convince scientists worldwide who work in that particular field. Even when there's a worldwide scientific consensus, it should not be "belief" as much as tentatively accepting the best conclusion we have right now. And you do that because (1) we know that science works, (2) we know _why_ it works, and (3) we know that scientists won't stop looking for more evidence, so if the conclusion is wrong, it's scientists who will discover that, and the consensus will change. Science, unlike religion, is self-correcting. Scientists don't murder other scientists for 'blasphemy' or 'apostasy.' Indeed, the _heroes_ of science are those people who've discovered that established thinking was wrong in some way (or, more often, just incomplete). If it's just "some scientists," then the correct response is to reserve judgment. If there's enough evidence to back up their claims, then they'll eventually be able to convince other scientists working within their own field of expertise. And when they get a worldwide consensus of the experts agreeing with them, _that's_ the time to accept those claims (tentatively, of course; no one is infallible.) Now, I've never heard a scientist say that we live in a simulation, myself. I don't even know which field of science that would _be._ It's possible that you heard it from an actual scientist, of course - scientists are still human - but... did you? Or did you hear that from some religious apologist making a _claim_ about scientists? Or, equally likely, maybe you just heard it from the popular media, people trying to publicize sensational claims in order to make money? There seem to be a lot more vague claims about "some scientists" than there are scientists who actually believe that stuff. But "some scientists" _do_ believe some crazy things. Nothing would really surprise me. Again, "scientists" are still human. PS. I know of one guy who has strongly pushed that "simulation hypothesis," but he's a philosopher, not a scientist. Now, maybe some scientist accepts that - again, scientists are still human - but I've only heard of scientists who push back against it, myself. I don't think it's taken seriously in any scientific field. But who knows? I'm not a scientist, myself.

So, I imagine that's why _you're_ here, at a video about atheists? You're here just to feel better about the religion you were taught to believe as a child? You're here for comfort, not intelligent discussion? Yeah, that's how it seems to be with videos by Christian apologists, too. You all just preach to the choir. Worst case Szenario is even sometimes people who believe in the simulation theory also believe that there was a programmer. And as far as I can tell, it's the best method we've ever discovered of distinguishing reality from delusion and wishful-thinking. Certainly, science has clearly demonstrated that with the rapid progress in scientific understanding in recent centuries. @@TruckKunDagoat _"you know very well I'm talking about the guy who said perhaps none of us exist"_ Really? What's foolish about that, exactly? I have no reason to defend some random guy in a video, but I would say that talking to a street-corner Muslim was the most foolish thing here. This isn't a debate. It's just a show. No matter what, this Muslim guy is only going to clip out certain excerpts of a conversation which he thinks will be popular with his supporters. _"Pretty bold of you to make an assumption"_ It would have been, if I'd actually done that. But I didn't. Of course, it would be a pretty good bet anyway, huh? Worldwide, faith-based people _overwhelmingly_ tend to believe in whatever religion and whatever god or gods they were taught to believe as a child. And that's especially the case in majority Muslim countries where you can be arrested and even killed for 'blasphemy' or 'apostasy.' It's hard to hear contrary opinions when you murder people who disagree. You have to go to western countries with freedom of speech and freedom of religion to even have a _conversation_ about this stuff. Obviously, there _are_ converts - in every direction - though they're a small minority. But that's exactly why I _didn't_ make the "assumption" you claim I made. _"Bring your argument of your truthful and we'll scrutinise you"_ Sorry, I'm not sure what you're saying there. But if you're saying you want to talk, great! Let's talk. I enjoy talking to intelligent people who disagree with me about religion. I don't believe in a god or gods because I've seen no good evidence that any god is real. And evidence is how we distinguish reality from delusion and wishful-thinking. So, what about _you?_ How about one piece of good evidence, specific enough and in enough detail that I can judge it for myself, that your god is real, rather than just imaginary? Just *one,* please. Why is *one* too much to ask?
@TruckKunDagoat
@TruckKunDagoat 2 ай бұрын
@Bill_Garthright But you have made an assumption. Just becsuse you may have an idea as to why someone is muslim doesn't mean it applies to this particular individual. There are plenty of "born Muslims" who don't belive. And there are many who haven't been brought up in that environment who become Muslims and even scholars. The religion of Islam alloys for freedom of religion and discussion, now whether those specific countries apply it or not is up their own issue and shortcoming. There is a hadith where dome christians came to have a discussion with the prophet, and they allowed them to stay and pray in the mosque. They didn't accept islam so they went on their way. Note before I discuss with you, there is only one question I like to ask, and that is. If it was made clear to you without ant doubt that islam is the truth, will you accpet. Now answer this questions sincerely because I'm not here to waste my time. And be sincere in your answer and have some self respect and be truthful with your answer.
