Basement Jamming - Gretsch Jim Dandy

Squeezing some blues out of this amazing value acoustic. I'm using the Billy Gibbons signature slide by Dunlop and a Shure SM57. The Gretsch Jim Dandy was fitted with a Grover "Perfect Guitar Nut" to raise the strings for slide.

Can you manage it ok for slide with the original nut set up? I would like to fret notes as well. Perhaps with 13s on it for open G?

Yes! When I bought it, it was supposed to be this cheap guitar that I would use for practice because I was moving in from another country and my gear hadn’t arrived yet, but I ended up loving it. Thanks for watching.

Nice Jam with your Jim Dandy, I have this guitar and can't get any tone from it with slide. You say you have a nut extender, It sure sounds good. do you still recomend this extender or not. Nice playing. thank you.

Hey man, thanks! I like the extender, but it makes it impossible to fret any notes. It's strictly for slide playing.

@@hermeticbasementstudiosinc4904 opa, então é sinônimo de que gostou hahaha. Acabei de encomendar o meu agora pouco. Eu estava com dúvida se esse violao tinha o tensor, por ser baseado jos antigos, achei que não tinha. Mas acabei comprando e seu vídeo ajudou a me decidir👊👊
