I know people who served but not in combat, people who just stayed out of Israel during when they'd be eligible, and I know someone who went back and chose jail to get it over with but I don't know how complicated it was.

I honestly don't get why Palestine doesn't get to participate itself, it literally overlaps/is disputed territorially with one of the countries that already participates. They have some great artists like Bashar, would love to hear more of their music.

Well, if we leave all politics aside, there's nothing left of this suggestion. Just an ugly melody by an ugly voice in an ugly outfit. Hera has an ultra-bland song but at least she's a GREAT performer. Of course she won't qualify to the Final and Iceland missed a huge opportunity for vote-hunting but I 'm very glad this happened. Iceland is one of my very favourite countries in Eurovision and I really want them to win but with a good song. Next year perhaps?

@@Crowleas Uhh. I don't know what politics are even involved here, and this was 100% the best song Iceland had. The one that won is legitimately _atrocious_ -- the only positive there is that my fave songs in Iceland's SF now have a much better chance of making it to the final.
