I grew up in the Bay Area as a Giants fan and will never forget watching live on television Mitchell’s bare handed catch.

I love the friendly competition the emerged after the the quake that rocked the World Series! Me and my lady have made it a ritual to see a Bay Bridge Series at least once every season! I'm a Giants fan but I prefer to go to the Coliseum because that stadium still holds that old fashioned mystic to it! 💯

So here in Nor Cal its become popular to rip into the split SF/A's caps ... hard core fans just despise the idea. But the thing is the A's - Giants rivalry is a real thing within families here in the Bay Area. Many A's fans get married to Giants fans, have kids and the kids can't make up their mind and root for both. I see nothing wrong with it.

This is the fourth World Series meeting between the Oakland Athletics and the San Francisco Giants (their previous meetings were in 1905, 1911 and 1913).

Fourth between the Athletics and Giants franchises. Not between Oakland and SF.. but but good history. The first three were managed by the legendary managers John McGraw and Connie Mack.

@@diamondplate Good play in their WS victories. As I read, the earthquake totally messed up our starting rotation. Canseco and McGwire were so doped they could go through walls. Who else?
