Thanks Chioma for this explicit video on the average living cost pw. This my first time of watching your videos and I must tell you, its spot on. My question is going with the estimate of $1081.8 aud pw, is it possible to get a job that will cover these expenses?

Glad you enjoyed the video Awodoye, and yes, I'm sure you can live well on whatever you earn if you budget carefully. The minimum wage in Australia is one of the highest in the world at $19.84 per hour for the lowest paying jobs.

The best break down I have seen . Hands down . You really took your time and you are very articulate about it . If you don't mind , speaking on family of four of which the kids are age 1 and 3 . How do you suggest the parent plan their working hours while still maintaining care of their kids ? . Would really appreciate a response . Thanks once again .

Hi Olasupo, thank you for your kind words. Some of the things we did to manage care around the kids was work alternating shifts, registering with different family day care providers on a casual basis, so there was a better range of coverage in case we needed casual care at short notice, and we also approached trusted friends to help us out occasionally. Some families make the decision for one parent to stay home until the kids attain school age. I hope this helps.

@@lifewithchioma oh by the way , should an international student who has a family already , make a visa application for himself and his family together before going to Aus or should he get there first and after some months , apply for his family ? . If you could share the instance in your own case , that would be equally helpful . Thank you .

@@olasupoadaranijo4661 In our case, my husband applied and came in first. We joined him 2 months later. But I know that some people have bern successful applying all at once and coming in together. Unfortunately I can't advise what will be best in your case. Good luck!

You are responsible for buying your own private insurance. It is not provided to you, so yes, you must have a cover for all travelling members of your family.
