Loved your repair vids, and pleased to see you making new content after a pause. On solder suckers, the ones with silicone nozzles are great. Gives a better seal. The nozzles do wear out after lots of use (replacement silicone tubing is cheap) but they are a good improvement over traditional suckers.

I can recommend (as a beginner) a desoldering station such as (i.e. ZD-915), because it's so much easier NOT to f*** up the PCB. And as a beginner, you might be using too much heat or stay too long on the solder pad etc. With a desoldering station, just melt the solder, pump it and voila in most cases the leg of the component is free of solder.

I did not sign up either. As for as top 10 gear for a hobby user,,he done very well. He did this in under 6mins..The problem with this as a newbie to electronic is they probably don't know what there looking at and have a lack of perspective on test equipment . This may seems abrupt and confusing to a person getting into hobby repair. I thought he done well in the time he spoke. If it was me,,, I would go into detail a bit more. Make it 15mins with a few more details. All in all it was pretty good and fair for the time and effort given. Also seen 30 minute videos that offered less advice on repair gear.Good luck

I. Like second hand prof. Instruments a lot better than the Chinese stuff. Costs about the same but works much better in the long run. Examples are oscilloscope, bench meters and counters. I like HP, Tektronix and keithley.

Quick question for all you electronic guys. What is a good budget hot air rework station. Have a few kids and wanna sew if I can fix my switches. Willing to go to $200 any help is greatly appreciated

Great video. Do you know of any courses available for basic electronics troubleshooting? I checked udemy.com but saw nothing relevant beyond rasberry pie, arduino oriented courses. I buy, sell and repair fitness machines (treadmills, ellipticals, exercise bikes). I can repair the mechanical issues but I'm limited in knowledge when the panel is dead or the resistance circuit is not working (most common issue I find). I need a good course that takes me through beginner to advanced to be able to troubleshoot these electronic circuits.
