While the reinstatement of the social relief of distress grant has been widely welcomed human rights organisations believe government can do more. And economist Duma Gqubule agrees. It's not about the affordability of grant. You can as well print more money and give it to the jobless and poor people. We must first understand that which is primary. What is primary is productivity. We must be able to create goods and services that money can buy. We must pump money into building and establishing industries and factories that people can be gainfully employed while producing the goods and services we all need. To give money to the poor as grant is not just stupid and idiotic, it is ultimately self destructive. We may end up with so much money with no goods to purchase. Nobody in his right mind will be fulfilled by just living on grant. To restore dignity to to a human being, train him, skill him and give him the opportunity to be productive. It's not rocket science. There is a lot of creation awaiting our creativity. We are just too lazy to think.

Uyanya, tell us where is the money raining from... You want a failed state in few years down the road. Provide proper jobs not this handouts syndrome you are proposing. Already grants are all over and fixing the country includes providing work not grants entitlement

🤣🤣 oops. A lot of people lost their jobs. Wow. Guess inflation is gonna be a serious problem and then everyone have less. Running the last bit of whats left into the ground for votes and what then?
