Ok... So for those that were asking.....Here's How to get those Chords / Keyboard Mode and Lovely initial Drum Loops recorded into Cubase :) First off... point to remember is that Cubase will disable your record button on your Maschine... Transport now handled by the DAW. So (example) use Jef's example video and get your chords in (ps.. I'm a Major 8 kinda guy! ) and sure enough you'll hear through cubase. 1. On Cubase (10), set your Input Routing to Maschine 2 - Midi Out (so your cubase input is received by your Maschine midi output) 2. On Maschine, set the Sound - Output - Midi - Destination to Host You might at first hear that it goes a bit corrupt first of all ... I seem to have gotten over this by ensuring Sound - Input - Midi was set to default. (If anyone whose much more skilled than I can explain why...that would help me get a better understanding!) I can also confirm this works in Keyboard Mode on Maschine too :) Also ... Did you realise that those great Single Loop Drum presets can be dragged straight into Cubase from Maschine either as a Midi File or Sample? ...Next to the Pattern length on Maschine, there's a couple of little icons...Midi Data or Sample... Simply drag into your DAW and voila!! ... Hope this helps :) Feedback and further tips welcome.

Thanks! It's a tough call, and it really comes down to: the style of production you do, whether or not you have others you are collaborating with, if you're doing traditional studio recordings with bands or just producing everything on your own, if you need to do music production and sound design, if you want to work at a certain place with a certain DAW, wether you play live, and then even the genre of music you are making. I definitely don't look down on any of the big programs out there, there's just so many to choose from!

Hello Jeff I trust all is well just wanted to a question about Maschine. Is there was to fix lengths and velocity on multiple notes as you do in Cubase ?
@jefgibbons
@jefgibbons 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Creed! I think the lengths thing is still on the feature requests list, but if you want to adjust velocity on multiple notes, you can just select them all and bring one of them up or down. If you want them all to be the same velocity, just select them all, then grab the lowest velocity note and drag it all the way up. Then you can lower them all and they'll all be at the exact same velocity.

@@mrbiggs1213 I did! I also teach music composition and digital recording classes, so music theory is a huge part of my life... and it seems underrated in the music production world! As to your other question, send me a pic of your problems, email to jef at jefgibbons dot com. (make sure it's one f!)
