As much as "experienced people try to convince me to use A-frame, lean to or whatever, I still prefer the diamond or plough any time! I am glad I am not alone!

Corporal your videos are always very clear and to the point. Excellent instruction, succinct, organized, fit for purpose. Just what this civilian would expect from a squared away Marine. Thanks and please continue.

Great instruction. I do like that you show close ups of the knots and show the tarp from different angles. Good Job.

i think that the 7x5 tarp made an interesting shelter a square tarp might be the ideal tarp but this way you can use one side as a wall and the shorter side you can use as an opening and put a fire and a kitchen in front of you. You can also use a second tarp as a side and make more of an A-frame type shelter with the low profile and aerodynamic properties of the plow point

Excellent! I am glad you were keen enough in your editing to reuse previous prep footage; no need reinventing the wheel when you've done it already. To me this seems like the more logical shelter especially if you are in an unfamiliar region where you don't know the weather patterns. Great video =)

I liked this one, I was struck by the bowline tie up to the first tree. Is the vid from before you adopted the improvised Marline spike hitch/quick-release? - the excess as a toggle was a nice touch.

any advantages with the option b for that trucker's hitch over option a?
@recall5811
@recall5811 8 жыл бұрын
+xdanpaloozax Both are the same brotha, except as stated in the video option B gives you a loop in the center of the ridgeline instead of off to the side. I like a center loop for A-Frame and Plow Point configurations and a side loop for lean-to designs, but Honestly you can do either one and it will work just fine. Thanks for the question and thank you for watching
