Excellent video! And your website is great source of information. It helps take some of the mystery of "Why are there so many different types of screws out there?" Especially for someone new to woodworking. I'll never look at a screw the same way 🤔. Thank you.

This would be awesome if you hadn't used low resolution 480p. Please re-upload at 1080p or 4k so we can read the tiny print on the diagrams.

This is great video, had one question. Lets say my driver bits have P1, P2 , P3 , how do i know which bit to use on a drive type PH for philips screw ?

A: Here is a link to our fastener guide that can help answer that question better. The bits are correlated to the diameter of the screw. go to this link www.quickscrews.com/fastener-guide, then click on the tab that says heads. Scroll down to view the different head styles. Each diameter of screws, shows the drive size on the right side column. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching.

What is a number 2 screw? I bought an impact driver and everyone asks me if it can take number 2?

They are referring to a #2 Drive, which is based on the size.

Why are lag bolts called (Bolts) when they are really screws!

You are right, but the screw/bolt distinction is messy in at least English. Even formal definitions are messy. A machine screw is a screw until you put a nut on it and then it becomes a bolt? Kind of silly. Head bolts are really screws because they screw into the block but common usage tends to use the word bolt for larger screws.

Y WOULD ANYONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND, HAVE ALL THESE DIFFERENT SCREWS. I could understand the length that makes sense, the Phillips and the flat head make sense, the different material OK. What does not make sense is why I had no problem in the world making my first planter (wood screws, Phillips head used with 1in 1in 6 in wide board. NO problem, I switched to thicker wood I WILL NEVER EVER DO THIS AGAIN and none of the Phillips wood screws (2 1/2) length would work. I could not believe it. So I went to a warehouse store and asked the guy why won't my current screw work with a thicker piece of wood. I did pre drill and I would up with these heads sticking up from where the treads stopped drove me nuts. Then for no apparent reason that I could differentiate some of the screws that looked the same as the first screws just would not go into the wood at all. I wound up having to go buy nails not to mention my hands hurt. Y would one Phillips head work and another one not and your video was informative however you did not explain the heads and the treads distance. Y would anyone want heads of screws not flush with the wood. Then the warehouse store guy says (now keep in mind I have a jar full of wood screws) buy new screws with the treads going up to the head. Did someone on a bad trip think this up to drive people nuts or to the poor house with a million different kinds of screws. This had to be a racket. What is the difference between an impact driver and a cordless and my guess is your going to say tork. This is a nightmare. Not your video, I found the video very enlightening but this entire screw business seems overdone. Thanks I appreciate your video but I can understand why this is such a turn off and I am certain it applies to some men as well. You would almost have to take a wood shop class to actually understand it.
