this is a basic square.
it avoids holes created on the sides with the Loop over needle / yarn over needle technique.
I used a 4mm needle and a thick Double Knit from ALDI.
adjust needle and yarn to your requirements and tension.
the pattern is in the video and a screen shot will give you a digital copy.

Slipping the first stitch off looks better than an actual knit stitch. I will try it next time

Thank you. Very soothing to listen to you chattering away as you teach. Yes, I do get tired of knitting away for long . But this pattern is quite easy, without holes and works up fast. Hope to pick up more patterns from you.

Thank you for sharing this. ❤ I like the idea of the picking up from prior row increase and the splitting of the plies and weaving them in individually at the end. 👍👍

❤ glad to have shared a tip or two. Yes, splitting the fibre is a wonderful way to hide the tail. And if joining yarn in the middle of a row, split them a few inches, and and marry them, leaving tails on BOTH yarns... then work the splits away... makes it an invisible join. Play around and discover how split fibers have a totally new way of making projects. It's also fantastic to use if making something like a Kaffe FASSET project. That involves so many tails... I would split the tails and integrate them as I knitted..

Hi. I don't have videos on how to attach knitted squares. I did find a technique to attach crocheted squares. My playlists have a number of blankets. Sorry, I just never got around to attaching knitted squares for a blanket. I did attach them to make pockets. I used crochet. Angel pockets. (For tiny babies that went to heaven to early). I think I have a playlist for that. I loved to South Africa in 2022, and almost exclusively make knitted booties for a local charity beanies4babies.

BASIC SQUARE - knitted corner to corner, no holes 4 mm needles DK yarn Cast on 3 sts k 1 row Pattern increase: Slip 1, k1, pick up loop (see video 4:38), k to end of row until desired length (Optional) Slip 1 st, k to end of row Turn work, optionally place a marker for start of decreases Pattern decrease: Slip 1, k2tog, k to end until 3 sts left on needle (Optional) k 1 row 22:12 Cut thread, pass the end through the three loops from the opposite end, gently tighten Weave in ends (see video) You're welcome :)
