Awesome tips. We are learning how to fish big water in Lake Ontario. Fished musky, walleye, bass for ever and got a boat that can handle the great lakes.

Very well done! Really like how you went into detail on each set up. Can’t wait to see how the new Shimano 800s perform. Just curious as to why you like the 9 foot rod for your coppers?

Please tell me, why I should swap my coldwater okumas....I use them with leadcore but will add downriggers next. Just the quietness? I would like some click notification. Tightlines big man, thank you. No really, you look like a powerlifter 😂 I really Luke where you explain the mix of strategies. We are in the finger lakes, but in a 21ft boat, so Ontario bays as soon as we sort that shit out.

Nice video. What size reels are you using for your 7 and 10 color lead core?

what are the defining characteristics of a trolling rod? Can any rod be a trolling rod?

For the most part yes , but there is specialty rods made by , Shimano, okuma & Diawa, for lead core / copper , dipsy divers and then down riggers
