Not really. It's a tutorial for a situation where you don't have a gun but you must try at least something. You also need to concider the fact that a lot of soldiers lot of times may not necessarily shoot to kill, especially in point blank range. Only if they have been trained to shoot before thinking then these wont help

Filipino soldiers are actually experienced fighters especially when you are deployed in the south. If got captured, you'll be beheaded by terrorists. Hand to hand combat is a must

As funny as the editing is, there is indeed some usefulness. I'm looking into self-defense and there is a large percentage of crimes happening via ambush. Even if your weapon is holstered, an attacker right on top of you can pose significant problems in getting to it and having a clean shot. People who DO conceal carry get taught unarmed combat. An armed person does in fact need space and some arm mobility in order to get a shot off.
