"He won't bite without permission" is simultaneously scary, comforting, and impressive
@OriginalUnjustifier
@OriginalUnjustifier Ай бұрын
And is strangely more comforting than just 'He won't bite', since that's generally the case, until they do so the first time. Kid doesn't want to be that 'first' time because of a dog owner who is blind to their companions flaws. But being told the dog 'will' bite but only with permission implies both knowledge and control, which reassures the kid at least subconsciously that the guy actually knows what he's talking about.

But obviously theyd trust him first regardless. But they DEFINITELY had a signal to command this behavior. Whether its for the video and just acting, or because the guy could just tell how nervous the kid was, immediately (its at least somewhat believable imo. He's a Behaviouralist... That just naturally extends to human psychology in SO many ways) the doggos were perfectly trained for this exact scenario. And it's very impressive ❤

How he handled this situation shows just as much of how good he is with dogs as the dogs themselves. He pucked up the kid was bervous, and instead of ignoring him, just telling him to not be afraid or that the dogs won't bitet, he engaged the kid and made it a positive experience. He had the dog jump down from the box and come near him to help the kid feel safer while also showing he was in control of the dog. He was honest about biting, and he then showed the kid his dog playing basketball, which is pretty great. He also kept his focus on the dogs the entire time, again. Showing he was in control of the situation. He did everthing right!
