Moral of the story : have your drive game so strong it opens up your shot or have your shot game so strong it opens up your drive.

Be good at both man. I struggle because my drive game is strong but I miss open ass shots the defense gives me
@zhtas4271
@zhtas4271 4 жыл бұрын
@@markouz5582 better a good shot game than a good drive game, because if you're a threat to drive the defense can fend off of you and clog the paint. With physical defenders you can still get your shot off with off ball screens, movement and seperation moves. Just don't put all your points into one, it's never a good idea

Scoring comes easy with patience, change of pace, using you body to either make the defender commit or to give you space, fundamentals (simplicity), reacting to what the defense or defender is giving you, it's 95% mental and 5% physical. You get sharper with practicing skills and conditioning your body overall. Don't ever overthink or do too much 💯👍

Can't stress how important it is to have a consistent jumper, especially as a smaller guard. Usually as the shortest player, you won't have trouble blowing by guys who close out on you BECAUSE they know you can shoot and because you will usually be quicker on your feet than taller dudes. Getting by your man is the first step in breaking down the defense. It'll get you open looks, or get your teammates open looks.

@R2bball
@R2bball 5 жыл бұрын
bryan anthony leonardo there 100% is a perfect form. It gives you the ability to shoot every type of shot & be consistent. You can’t shoot every type of shot with Lonzo form. Don’t give bad advice
@bryananthonyleonardo1665
@bryananthonyleonardo1665 5 жыл бұрын
There isn’t. The ability to shoot every type of shot and be consistent isn’t acquired by “perfect form”. Sure you can correct improper forms of shooting by every proper forms that suits yourself, but a perfect form? Naaaah! Tell me what perfect form is and who’s had it in nba
@R2bball
@R2bball 5 жыл бұрын
bryan anthony leonardo Kobe, can shoot over either shoulder, stepback both ways, fade both ways, 3 ball, mid range. His only downfall was his setpoint was a tad high and shot was slightly flat but his form was perfect. Klay of course can do the same with his form. Plus consistency. Consistency plus the ability to get off every shot. Lonzo can’t shoot to his right. Marion can’t shoot fades. There’s 100% a correct perform form to shoot with

What angles are you taking to the basket? You seem to get completely in front of your defender with ease every time I drive the defender always rides my hip. I notice you use your off hand as well what tricks do you have to focus more on that. Are you looking at the defenders arms or feet? I'm a hell of shooter the best on my team but I'm getting drapped the minute I touch the ball. Any advice on protecting the ball and creating space on the dribble would be extremely helpful.
@soojandie
@soojandie 5 жыл бұрын
the best advice I can give you based on my experience is to always attack the front foot. and also if the defender is directly in front of you with both feet at the same position, use a hesi. it's easier said then done but once you master it, it seriously works wonders
