I wish Dwyane Wade was in the roster, but he had injury prior to the Olympics. That's why Harden and AD took over Wade and Bosh spot in the roster. Bosh had injury as well.

Imagine if Steve Kerr, Phil Jackson, Doc Rivers or Greg Popovich had coached this team... Coach K. might be a good coach, but I don't believe he could coach an NBA contender to a title. In order to this, I think this team underperformed regarding it's impressive roster. From today's perspective Tyson Chandler might be the worst player, BUT he was the NBA's defensive player of the year in 2012. And the bench was prime D-Will + young Russ + young beard + prime Melo + young AD + prime K-Love and prime Iggy. And, of course, 4 all time greats in the starting 5 with Kobe, LeBron, CP3 and KD. This roster has been amazing. And it would be a great matchup to see Team USA 2012 vs. Team USA 1992.

@_H_ The spanish population is 46 M and USA population is 328 M. So there is ×7 teens playing basketball at least. Moreover, in history, there has been only one player to be professional at the age of 14, that was Ricky Rubio. Luka Doncic was 16. So, as you can see, you have to be a NBA caliber player to start playing so young in the spanish league.

Spain played more fluent team basketball. USA had and always has the best individual players. I looked at the box score of this game- US had a TOTAL of only 13 assists on 34 made FG. Which is obscenely low. Spain had 22/33. Much better.

I grew up in the era when Michael was about to retire and Kobe was rising to become a star. Before the 2000’s, there was no replacement for Michael, he was extremely dominant and he was incredible in both defensive e and offensive ends. Unlike Michael, Kobe wasn’t loved by everyone when he was playing. In fact, there was a period of time when people gave him different negative names. For me, I started to really like him after Shaq left LA, Kobe really showed the world how competitive and responsible being the star of the Lakers. I never regret getting that front row ticket for Lakers vs Suns game in 2007. Thank you Kobe and your amazing career!

For me this is one of the greatest games in the history of basketball. the American team was incredible with kobe bryant, lebron james, kevin durat, chris paul. some of the best players ever. a gean merit of Spain to compete this game. with the Gasol brothers, Navarro, Rudy Fernández, Calderon. Funny about Spain is that they missed their starting and better point guards in that moment in both finals. Calderon in 2008 and Ricky Rubio in 2012.

As a Spaniard I feel very proud of this team and the 2008 team. They gave us two exciting and competitive matches against the enormous USA in two consecutive Olympics finals. I do remember watching those matches and enjoying them as I never did before (despite we lost both finals). Thank you USA and thanks SPAIN for these 2 incredible finals!!!

As an American Im impressed on how good the Spanish team is. They where one of the only teams that really gave us a run for our money. Probably the second best basketball team behind the USA.

I think Spain from 2008 is stronger. In 2012 they are the same players but all aged, while U.S. has a new generation of stars entering prime.

2012 Olympic USA Starting 5 PG Chris Paul (In Prime) SG Kobe Bryant (Last of his Prime) SF Kevin Durant (Early Prime) PF LeBron James (Arguably at his Peak) C Tyson Chandler (Peak) For context LeBron was MVP the season before the Olympics, Chris Paul, Kobe and Kevin Durant where all All NBA first team, and Tyson Chandler was the Defensive player of the year and all NBA third team. Chris Paul was all defensive first team the season prior and Kobe was all defensive second team, LeBron was all defensive first team the previous year and was 4th in DPOY voting, and as mentioned Tyson Chandler was DPOY though he was all defensive second team. Kevin Durant won the scoring title the season prior. This team was crazy stacked

As a Spaniard, this match made me feel so proud of the whole Squad. They fight until the end with great teamwork and the USA Team recognized that. That's why I love basketball and the way we play to this sport. Nobody expect us, but we keep on top 😏🇪🇸
