My personal view of audio gears price category;
$0-100 = BUDGET-FI
$100-500 = MID-FI
$500-1000= HIGH-FI
$1000 - $2000 = SUMMIT-FI
$2000 & Beyond = STRATOS-FI

Excellent review mate. Glad that they are companies doing some great basshead sets. I have been reading about Nightjar Duality and it is also touted to be a bassheads dream.

I'm glad these sets are getting more coverage. I have a set of scarlet minis on order and they are still a month or two out. Sounds like they have been getting some high demand for this series.

nice review. i just received my pair last week and have been loving this thunderous bass haha. also i noticed you had graphed your set, would you happen to know the sensitivity and impedance? i asked yeo but he couldnt provide.

Very honest review, thanks. This is not my type of IEM but I'm so glad it exists. I was expecting the upgraded red cable to be nicer, but I'd prefer the PW ignis

Hi there! I'm still enjoying my Maestro Mini's and I'm so satisfied that I'd like to buy the Scarlet too. Do u think the Xduoo XD05 Bal 2 (1,5 w @ 32 ohm) is enought to drive them properly?! Tks!

Looks like i'll keep my Maestro mini's. I love the 20+ dB big bass shelf (Scarlet is 30dB) yet still get the mids+treble. Smaller bore tip selection matters alot for more bass on the OG mini.

great comparative review, very simple to understand and at the same time detailed!! Can they only be used with a smartphone? (I have an amp but a desktop) while in addition to music, if they were used every now and then for gaming (nothing competitive) could they be fine?

Thanks for watching and glad to hear you're enjoying the video. Unfortunately they can be quite power hungry so i wouldn't recommend driving them using just a phone so using a desktop amp would benefit you a lot. I think they would be fine for gaming, but I'd choose the maestro mini over the scarlet but overall i dont think they would be the most accurate if you're looking to have a competitive match due to their bass presentation

@@rnarexperience thank you very much for the prompt reply, unfortunately I have a desktop station and don't listen much in portability, I don't have a dongle! I use iem when the headphones bother me, or it's too hot! I love sub bass over mid bass! I exclude the Scarlet, I prefer a little more cleanliness! thanks so much again! I didn't ask, how are they with sibilants? (I listen to metal and for example, Rammstein and ghost have "s" and other consonants that are piercing and sharp) has this ever happened to you?

Thanks for watching. If it's all about the bass, scarlet mini is the way to go, bass for decades and simply slams all competition. However if you want more treble clarity (comparing the two), maestro mini would be my personal choice.

Hi what's best IEm for full texture bass and full smooth vocals and highs, good imaging huge rounded 3d headstage?

Difficult question because it's basically asking for it all, and usually with that, comes with a hefty price. For me personally it's between Xenon 6 or Grand Maestro but if you mean smooth as in not too harsh or sibilant, Diva comes next in mind. My personal favourite would be the Monarch Mk3, it has good imaging, probably not 3d headstage but it's good enough, has enough bass and really nice midrange. I need to jog my memory again for anything priced lower than that because there's always a sacrifice somewhere for lower tiered/priced gears

Bad guy good audio says the details on the scarlett are better than the maestro mini..not sure if your sets are different iterations of the scarlett or what but def don't know what to think after seeing your video after watching his. Thought for sure the Scarlett would have better details with the "upgraded" treble driver.

Hmmmm tough question, I'd personally pick the mini over the variations personally. BUT if you already have the variations, then the scarlet would be the other "flavour" to add in your collection, because the Variations competes with the mini, but the scarlet is just a different experience altogether (that is of course if you're looking for that bass presentation)

Excellent review, thank you so much. Unfortunately these are both unavailable to buy in the UK. What alternative brands, costing $500 or less would you recommend, the bass being similar to the Scarlet Mini?

Unfortunatly I dont think anything comes close to the Scarlet Mini in its price category. You can check out my basshead IEM videos for other possible options. The 7hz Legato may be the budget alternative but it's still missing the clarity that the Scarlet Mini carries despite having all that bass. I'd say the OH10 can be a consideration if a forward sounding presentation is something you'd be willing to accept

@@kanej2006 websites like linsoul or hifigo doesn't have it? you can even get it directly from Ikko's website and on some days they all may have some sale going on as well. Hope the above helps if you decide to cancel your order from ebay

I did check the website for Ikko, however, no stock until March next month. I ordered from Ebay, only stock I found was either from Australia or Taiwan, as you know, it's not easy to purchase Ikko. That said, shipping should take just 2-5 days to receive. As for the FATfrequency Scarlet Mini, I do intend to buy in the near future, just hope it will be easier to purchase as they are not available to buy almost anywhere in Europe. Thanks for your recommendation for the Ikko IEM.

The ultimate bass king for me is Maestro Mini. Scarlet Mini is too much to me and it is hard to drive. 😢

I definitely prefer the Maestro Mini over the Scarlet in terms of resolution, but I still prefer the bass shelf on the Scarlet over the Maestro Mini as my one gripe with the Maestro Mini was that it could use more mid-bass, and the Scarlet manages to scratch that itch for me.
